ATP World Tour Finals live!

That is it from me here at the O2 for tonight. Thanks very much for your company today, it has been great fun! Sleep well and join us tomorrow for Group A action as Tomas Berdych takes on Marin Cilic and Novak Djokovic squares off against Stan Wawrinka. Should be another good day. Take care, see you then!
    11/11/2014 10:31:10 PM
Yo, yo, yo. We are back at the O2 for another day of great tennis - hope you can come along for the ride! The singles action is in Group A today and Tomas Berdych will face Marin Cilic (no earlier than 2pm) this afternoon before defending champion Novak Djokovic tackles Stan Wawrinka this evening (not before 8pm).

Of course, we will have plenty of fun and games before then, including doubles! Top seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan are about to take on Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau. Could be a good one!
    11/12/2014 12:04:03 PM
  • Wet day in London, they have had to put the roof up here!

    11/12/2014 12:15:28 PM
  • Plenty of punters flocking in to watch what should be a lively afternoon session

    11/12/2014 12:16:38 PM
If you are talking men's doubles, you need to start with Bob and Mike Bryan. The American duo are playing in the World Tour Finals for the 13th time and have finished as the top-ranked duo in the world 10 times in the past 12 years.

However, the top seeds were beaten in their first match here so they need a result against Romania's Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer, of the Netherlands. Poor old Rojer is 0-7 in his career at this tournament and he will do well to break his duck today. The Bryans lead 4-2 in set one.
    11/12/2014 12:34:41 PM
    So, yesterday we outlined what needed to happen for people to qualify for the semis and of course it all proved academic, because no one is through yet! Only a fool would repeat the trick expecting a different result, so here are today's scenarios to keep an eye on;

Novak Djokovic is through to the semis if he beats Wawrinka and Cilic beats Berdych OR if he wins in straight sets and Berdych wins in three.

Stan Wawrinka will reach the last four if he beats Djokovic and Berdych wins OR if he wins in straight sets and Cilic wins in three.
    11/12/2014 12:42:32 PM
High excitement already as underdogs Rojer and Tecau twice come from a break down before securing a pair of set points. The Bryan brothers deliver under pressure though and we will have a tie-break at 6-6.[tie-break]
    11/12/2014 12:56:59 PM
  • Rojer and Tecau have a narrow 4-2 lead in the breaker.
    11/12/2014 12:59:55 PM
Good leave Sir! A Bryan volley is allowed to drift out and Rojer and Tecau win the tie-break 7-4. The Bryans are yet to win a set here this year in three attempts. Very unusual![set]
    11/12/2014 1:04:23 PM
Thomas Berdych v Marin Cilic is this afternoon's singles encounter. We just caught up with Sky Sports expert Leif Shiras and got his take on the match:

It is an interesting match, they both have very similar won-lost records this year. There is a lot at stake for both guys as they are in that 5-9 ranking area and there is a bit on the line in terms of bragging rights, not only at this event but in terms of who can go forward next year. If you make me pick, I'd probably go for Cilic, Neither played particularly well in their first match but Cilic might just have a little more today.
    11/12/2014 1:23:58 PM
The Bryans have recovered from a break down to lead 4-3 in set two here but Rojer and Tecau continue to give them all they can handle.

    11/12/2014 1:28:39 PM
It all goes wrong for Rojer and Tecau in that game and they are broken to love. The Bryans are serving for set two.
    11/12/2014 1:31:51 PM
They were 0-30 down and then taken to deuce in that game but the Bryans won the crucial deciding point and have taken the set 6-3 to level the match. The two teams will now have a match tie-break 'race to 10' to decide today's opening contest.
    11/12/2014 1:36:07 PM
Rojer and Tecau race into a 4-0 lead!
    11/12/2014 1:38:54 PM
The Bryans win a superb rally and have fought back to 4-5.
    11/12/2014 1:42:15 PM
  • Bryans win seven points out of eight and lead 7-5 now.
    11/12/2014 1:43:52 PM
  • Bryans win a pair of service points and have three match points at 9-6.
    11/12/2014 1:45:44 PM
  • They've done it![game-set-match]
    11/12/2014 1:46:20 PM
A volley goes into the net and the Bryan brothers celebrate with their traditional chest bump after fighting back from a set down to defeat Rojer and Tecau 6-7 6-3 10-6. That is a key win for the top seeds who are very much alive in the event after losing their opener.

As for poor old Jean-Julien Rojer, he is now played eight, lost eight at this event (not all matches with Tecau). I will be unashamedly cheering for him on Friday! Berdych-Cilic coming up ...
    11/12/2014 1:49:29 PM
Tomas Berdych and Marin Cilic have met nine times on the ATP Tour and Berdych, the sixth seed here, has a 5-4 edge. However, Cilic won two very significant recent meetings.

The eighth seed defeated Berdych on a gloomy London evening 7-6 6-4 7-6 to reach the last-16 at Wimbledon and then powered to a 6-2 6-4 7-6 US Open quarter-final victory en route to winning the tournament.

    11/12/2014 1:56:30 PM
Tomas Berdych is appearing at this event for the fifth time in a row and reached the semis in 2011. He has won a pair of titles this year (both indoors) and was solid at the Slams, reaching the semis in Australia and the quarters at the French and US Opens. However, he had no answer to Stan Wawrinka on Monday, losing 1-6 1-6.

Marin Cilic is making his debut at this tournament and did not get off to a flyer, also beaten 1-6 1-6, in his case by Novak Djokovic. However, whatever happens here, Cilic has had the year of his life, winning four titles and claiming a first ever Grand Slam crown when he powered to US Open glory in New York.

The players are about to come out - and someone is going to win more than two games in this match!

These two heavy hitters are knocking up after making dramatic entrances into a packed arena. Cilic will serve first when we get underway.
    11/12/2014 2:09:09 PM
  • In the studio, young talent Borna Coric has tipped Cilic but Greg reckons Berdych in three. Who will be proved right? Here we go .....
    11/12/2014 2:13:34 PM
Cilic not on the money early on, slamming a forehand into the net, putting another one long, and then finding the net again. He opens his account when Berdych is long with a backhand and the Czech nets to squander another break point before a good second serve from Cilic saves a third. Unforced errors a-go-go! Berdych eventually breaks when Cilic nets after a lenghty baseline exchange.[break]
    11/12/2014 2:21:54 PM
Tomas Berdych has bagged an early break here.

    11/12/2014 2:23:51 PM
Berdych arrows down the first two aces of the day to make it 40-30 and Cilic then nets a backhand to fall 0-2 behind in the early stages.
    11/12/2014 2:26:30 PM
Better from Cilic as he produces some good serves and opens his account for the afternoon by holding to love.
    11/12/2014 2:27:55 PM

  • Marin Cilic is bidding for a first ever Tour Finals win

    11/12/2014 2:29:26 PM
No problems at all for Berdych on serve there. He puts away a smash at the second attempt to follow suit by holding to love himself. 70% of first serves are going in for the Czech and that is good news for his supporters.

    11/12/2014 2:33:49 PM
Berdych fights back to 40-30 on the Cilic serve but then puts a backhand long and the eight-seeded Croat stays on his tail, albeit down a break.
    11/12/2014 2:36:12 PM
Berdych in charge on serve again, an unreturnable one taking him to 30-0 before he guides a forehand into the corner. Cilic then puts a forehand long and Berdych cruises through another service game without dropping a point.
    11/12/2014 2:40:09 PM
Cilic not really enjoying himself at the start of the game and he finds himself down 0-30 after a laboured backhand, before a forehand into the net gives Berdych two break points. One is saved when Berdych nets a tricky forehand and a massive serve then sets up an easy winner. Deuce! Great backhand from Cilic and he escapes when Berdych fails to return another great serve. Marin has arrived at the party!
    11/12/2014 2:45:04 PM
A net-cord sets up an easy putaway for Berdych but he makes something of a hash of it and he faces two break points when a Cilic volley just about drops in. He saves one with an outrageous double-handed backhand winner from the baseline, Cilic then goes long with a poor backhand, and Berdych seals the game with the time-honoured big-serve, big forehand strategy. Good recovery!
    11/12/2014 2:52:46 PM
Berdych gets it to 30-30 with a beautifully struck forehand winner and then sets up a set point with a winner from the other flank as Cilic makes a misguided charge towards the net. An errant forehand flies well wide and it is back to deuce but Cilic then nets after a deep return. Set point two ...and Cilic is just wide with an attempted forehand winner! Hawkeye confirms it was a great call by the line judge and Berdych has the set![set]
    11/12/2014 2:57:46 PM
A pretty solid set from Berdych and he has the lead in this one.

    11/12/2014 2:59:19 PM
  • T BERDYCH 6-3 1-0 M CILIC*
Good serving again from Berdych and he wraps up the opening game of the second set with the minimum of fuss. Are we going to get a first three-set singles match of the week? I am not sure, Berdych looks far more on his game so far.
    11/12/2014 3:01:41 PM
  • T BERDYCH* 6-3 1-1 M CILIC
Cilic races into a 40-0 lead so he can afford a lax volley into the net ... or can he? It then goes to 40-30 after a loose backhand but Berdych then puts a weak backhand of his own into the net and Cilic levels.
    11/12/2014 3:04:25 PM
  • T BERDYCH 6-3 2-1 M CILIC*
Great start to the game from Cilic and it is 0-30 when he scores with a forehand into the corner. He then nets a return but Berdych rifles a forehand into the net, which he would have put away if completely at his best. However, he saves both break points, helped by a poor Cilic return, and a massive ace, and hangs on to serve once again when Cilic puts a return long. The Croatian looks wobegone after that and who can blame him? He has had his chances but keeps bungling them!
    11/12/2014 3:09:34 PM
  • T BERDYCH* 6-3 3-1 M CILIC
Big Marin produces a monster serve down the middle for an ace but Berdych says 'I'll see that and raise you a clean forehand winner plus a backhand return winner'! Break point and Cilic badly miscues a backhand. It's all about Berdych at the moment![break]
    11/12/2014 3:13:42 PM
  • T BERDYCH 6-3 4-1 M CILIC*
Berdych's forehand catches an inch of the line, which sums up poor old Cilic's day so far. The Czech then produces an ace (fourth of the match) to move within two games of victory.
    11/12/2014 3:18:16 PM
  • 11/12/2014 3:19:41 PM
  • T BERDYCH* 6-3 5-1 M CILIC
Berdych hits a clean return winner and Cilic then tries an ill-advised drop shot which fails to clear the net. He comes hopefully to the net on the next point but a pass flies by and this one could be over in a hurry. Cilic saves one of the three break points but then hits a backhand into the net. Oh dear![break]
    11/12/2014 3:22:34 PM
  • [mobile]BET IN-PLAY
ilic is 11/10 to hang on for now by winning this game.
    11/12/2014 3:25:57 PM
  • T BERDYCH* 6-3 5-1 M CILIC
More bad luck for Cilic as a net-cord carries his forehand long but a backhand winner shows he still has stomach for the fight. He gets to break point, only for Berdych to dampen his spirits with an ace. A return then hits the net and it is match point ...
