  • It’s a great place to start the tour and we just can’t wait to get going. We would have liked to have batted first – here the first hour is crucial.  As always, it’s who does it best. Chris is the third seamer – he has a great record in Australia and is raring to go.

Alastair Cook admits he would have liked to have had a go first up...
    11/20/2013 11:37:31 PM
  • It's a fantastic toss to win. England are a very good side, so to them they'll be disappointed they're not batting. But for Australia it was important to win and go first on what looks a fantastic batting surface. It's very dry and nowhere near as much grass - I think it's going to be really pacey and it's humid, so the ball will swing. In years gone by the cracks used to open up, but since then it's come on and there's more grass on the surface. Generally the last few years it's stayed together the past few years.
