    Beefy seems to be making alternative plans already… Meanwhile, Paul Newman, Cricket Correspondent of the Daily Mail, highlights the contribution made by Chris Woakes (3-30) and Chris Jordan (3-32) who capitalised on the early in-roads made by James Anderson and Stuart Broad, justifying their selection at a time when others were calling for Ben Stokes and/or Steven Finn.

    This was the bowling performance England badly wanted after naming an unchanged side, with Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes vindicating the faith placed in them by playing a full role in support of jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad.
