Over 1 - India 0-0 (Dhawan 0, Vijay 0)
Plenty of debate over whether Cook made the right decision at the toss. David Lloyd believes bowling first is a 'risk'. We shall see... Anderson must keep his emotions in check as he steams in for the first over of the match. It's hard to differentiate the outfield from the pitch! He beats Vijay all ends up second ball with a quick outswinger but overall the Lancastrian is too short and Vijay, who scored 146 and 52 at Trent Bridge, sees out a maiden7/17/2014 10:04:53 AM -
[benedictbermange] England have only lost one (to SA in 2012) of their last 17 Tests at Lord’s dating back to 2006. India have not won any of their last 15 Tests away from home. Their longest streak was their first 43 matches away from home from 1932 until 1968 – until they beat New Zealand at Dunedin."

Over 2 - India 11-0 (Vijay 0, Dhawan 7)
Broad finds his length straight away and Dhawan is relieved to see an outside edge land short and wide of third slip and away for four. Cook reacts by bringing in a fourth slip. Dhawan, whose flamboyant technique will be tested here, is more assured with a defensive shot two balls later and picks up two through backward point as Stokes gives chase. Broad changes his line later in the over but is too straight and Dhawan diverts four more via his thigh pad before adding a single to complete an expensive start to his week's work7/17/2014 10:12:58 AM -
WICKET! Anderson strikes early and Dhawan is gone for seven! India 11-1. bit.ly/1t7w5mQ #EngvInd http://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsvQ0gICQAAK-hP.jpg

Dhawan ct Ballance bld Anderson 7 [wicket]Anderson produces an unplayable away swinger, pitching well outside leg stump, which catches Dhawan's edge and Ballance catches well low down at third slip7/17/2014 10:14:24 AM

230 - James Anderson is now the leading Test wicket-taker in England, with 230 in 103 innings. Landmark. @ECB_cricket http://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsvQ80xCYAAevL9.png

Over 3 - India 11-1 (Vijay 0, Pujara 0)
Brilliant over from Anderson, who lets his bowling do the talking with the early wicket of Dhawan. Jimmy moves to 69 Test wickets at Lord's, level at the top of the pile with Sir Ian Botham. Pujara joins Vijay in the middle with the ball doing all sorts...7/17/2014 10:17:17 AM -

Over 4 - India 11-1 (Vijay 0, Pujara 0) [dropped-catch]
Drop! Almost another! Vijay feels for one outside off stump and his edge just carries to Prior, who can't cling on to what would have been an outstanding catch. The ball just died on the England 'keeper and slipped from his fingers. Frustration from Broad, who was all over Vijay during that maiden. The bowlers well on top on this green seamer at Lord's...7/17/2014 10:22:07 AM -

Over 28 - India 75-2 (Pujara 12, Kohli 20)
Anderson kicks off proceedings after lunch in glorious sunshine at the Home of Cricket. He bowled eight overs in the morning session and Michael Holding believes that was far too many. Two singles and a strangled lbw appeal from his first over back7/17/2014 12:45:19 PM -
Over 29 - India 75-2 (Pujara 12, Kohli 20)
No surprises as Broad, poised on 249 Test wickets, starts the afternoon session alongside Anderson. He is getting plenty of bounce on this quicker, greener surface but Kohli, looking to cash-in on the life he received before lunch, plays out a maiden in solid fashion7/17/2014 12:50:13 PM -
Over 30 - India 77-2 (Pujara 14, Kohli 20)
Anderson is a little down on pace at the start of his second spell and Pujara pushes a half-volley through the covers for two to end his latest over. Already signs that the pitch is beginning to flatten out...7/17/2014 12:54:18 PM -
Over 31 - India 86-2 (Pujara 14, Kohli 25)
Andrew Strauss, on commentary, believes England are 'trying too hard' to prize out a wicket. The case in point comes right on cue when Broad bangs in a bouncer halfway down the pitch which evades Prior, jumping high behind the stumps, and away for four byes. That boundary came shortly after a glorious straight drive from Kohli found the fence at mid-off7/17/2014 12:59:02 PM -
WICKET! Prior makes no mistake this time and Kohli goes for 25 off Anderson. 86-3. bit.ly/1t7w5mQ #EngvInd http://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bsv2lDpCEAEr3Hj.jpg
by Sky Sports Cricket via twitter 7/17/2014 1:01:10 PM -
[andrewstrauss] It was the ideal delivery from Anderson, especially to Kohli, coming down the slope. Kohli did nothing wrong – it was just too good.”

Over 32 - India 87-3 (Pujara 14, Rahane 1)
Where would England be without Jimmy Anderson?! Just what he and his team needed with Pujara and Kohli beginning to form a dangerous partnership. No-one will be more relived than Matt Prior, who looked in some discomfort after taking that catch. Rahane is the new batsman and he gets off the mark with a single to square-leg7/17/2014 1:04:55 PM -
SKY BET ODDS[betting] Not much change in the outright betting to win the 2nd Test. England remain popular at 5/6 despite only snaring a couple of wickets in the morning session with India 100/30 and the draw 9/4. Bet in-play7/17/2014 1:06:25 PM
-
Over 33 - India 89-3 (Pujara 14, Rahane 2)
Broad is still erring on the short side and as a result failing to pose any serious problems. Driving a 6ft 6in bowler is hard at the best of times, on a green seaming pitch even more so... Two more singles added off his latest over7/17/2014 1:09:33 PM -
Over 34 - India 90-3 (Pujara 15, Rahane 2)
Pujara appears to be relishing this battle but he's struggling to impose himself in terms of scoring runs. He's faced 85 balls for his 15 runs and probably holds the key to how well India fare here in this first-innings. Dhoni is the next man due in...7/17/2014 1:13:05 PM -

7/17/2014 1:15:56 PM -
Over 35 - India 91-3 (Pujara 15, Rahane 2)
Too short again from Broad and just a leg-bye conceded. An awkward moment for Prior final delivery when the ball wobbled on its way through and almost hits him flush in the face! He just gets his glove there in time7/17/2014 1:19:06 PM -
Over 36 - India 95-3 (Pujara 19, Rahane 2)
Stokes replaces Anderson and starts well, despite a Pujara boundary. The one delivery over-pitched is put away in style, steered through backward point for four. The Durham man comes back well though, beating the bat twice7/17/2014 1:21:41 PM -
Over 37 - India 103-3 (Pujara 19, Rahane 10)
Broad adjusts to a fuller length but it comes at a cost. Rahane pushes him through the covers for four and then punches a middle stump half-volley through mid-on for four more to take India past 100. Two confident strokes from Rahane7/17/2014 1:25:09 PM
