  • Over 78 - England 179/7 (Moeen 61, Jordan 10)
Jayawardene bowls off-spin and has six wickets in 144 Tests. A single for each batsman before Moeen carves the final delivery of the over away for four. That might well be the end of the experiment.

Jordan blocks out a maiden from Herath with men crowding round the bat. One more over and then the second new ball is available to Sri Lanka.

That will definitely be Jayawardene's final over, a single for each batsman. The new ball is available to Sri Lanka and - no surprise - they are taking it straight away.

NO BALL! Jordan edges a full delivery from Eranga to Jayawardene at slip but Sri Lanka's celebrations are cut short as the third umpire is again asked to check for the no-ball. Unlike with Prior's dismissal earlier, this time there is no doubt - Eranga has clearly over-stepped and Jordan survives!

This new ball is doing quite a bit. Moeen clips off a boundary off his hip but is again beaten prodding outside his off-stump later in Pradeep's over.

Eranga is also getting some shape with the new ball. Not out! Sri Lanka review a caught-behind appeal against Moeen. Umpire Bowden turned it down on the field and replays show the ball flicked his trouser leg on the way through to Chandimal, who made good ground down the leg-side. Sri Lanka down to their last review.

  • Over 87 - England 211/7 (Moeen 71, Jordan 21)
Pradeep gets one to rear up alarmingly after taking a piece out of the pitch. Sort of like an 80mph leg-break that goes through at head height and keeps rising. Wicketkeeper Chandimal has no chance of stopping it flying away for four byes. Jordan was fortunate that wasn't straight or it would have taken his head off.

  • [mikeatherton] The ball just slid on and straightened a fraction. The threat of the left-arm spin, in the modern age, is greater now with the introduction of DRS.

Prasad is back on. He's already got five wickets in the innings... Moeen hits the first delivery of the over through the covers for four off the back foot. Another lovely shot from the left-hander, got right on top of the bounce. Moeen keeps the strike with a single to square-leg.

[wicket]Herath round the wicket to Broad and gets one to straighten and thud into the pad. Steve Davis upholds the appeal, and Broad - miraculously - opts not to review. Hawk-Eye says it's hitting the outside of leg stump.

  • Over 101 - England 234/9 (Moeen 94, Anderson 0)
Moeen pumps Herath down the ground for four, and takes a single to leave Anderson three to survive. Sri Lanka ludicrously waste their last review on a nonsense of an lbw shout that wouldn't have hit a fifth stump and was probably umpire's call for height as Anderson shoulders arms. Could that cost them?
