It will have been a nervy tea break for Sam Robson, who is just two runs away from a maiden Test century. Play will resume shortly at Headingley with England 211-2 - 46 behind Sri Lanka.

  • Over 73 - England 212/2 (Robson 98, Bell 9)
Herath takes the first over after tea, with Robson on strike after Bell runs a single. Some good bowling forces the batsman to block back five deliveries and he is no closer to the ton.

  • Over 74 - England 221/2 (Robson 100, Bell 16)
[100]Prasad is on at the Kirkstall Lane End and concedes a boundary first ball when Bell guides him between slip and gully and away for four. Two more runs follow before Bell swings and misses when attempting to drive one through the covers. A single then brings Robson on strike and he pokes Prasad through the covers for two runs. HE'S THERE! It's a maiden Test ton for Sam Robson.

  • Over 76 - England 223/2 (Robson 101, Bell 16)
Two come from the over in the form of a Robson single and a leg bye. Some extra bounce from Prasad then makes the ball rear right up into Robson but he deals with it well and no damage is done.

  • Over 78 - England 234/2 (Robson 110, Bell 18)
Bell works Prasad away for a single before Robson middles one through the covers for four runs. He's obviously seeing the ball really well now but has a close call next up as he gloves one down the leg side, beyond the hopeful dive of Chandimal and away to the fine leg boundary for four. Another single makes it 10 from the over.

  • Over 80 - England 248/2 (Robson 116, Bell 26)
Bell gets a slice of luck as he attempts a cover drive off Prasad but instead edges it through the gap between slip and gully and away for four. The next ball also disappears through the same gap for four more, although it skidded past the fielders along the floor this time.

Pradeep is back on at the other end but the new ball is not taken despite now being available. The seamer looks to have put his no-ball issues behind him and bowls a maiden over with an accurate line and length.

  • Over 82 - England 250/2 (Robson 116, Bell 28)
Prasad continues to run in with the old ball in his hand and concedes two when Bell works him away through the off side to deep point. The other five deliveries are all dot balls.

  • Over 83 - England 258/2 (Robson, 121, Bell 31)
The new ball is now taken but Robson and Bell see it well onto the bat, the latter running three after jabbing it through midwicket and the former flicking one off his pads down to the fine leg boundary for four. That takes England ahead of Sri Lanka's first innings total.

[andrewstrauss] Sri Lanka have got to strike with this new ball, they've got no choice, but I'm not sure this field is right, especially to Bell. They could attack more.

  • Over 84 - England 266/2 (Robson 121, Bell 39)
Bell runs a quick two off Prasad before pulling him away to the boundary for four. Prasad then gets one to climb rapidly off a good length, the ball whizzing past Bell's bat and into Chandimal's gloves. There is a big appeal from the bowler but no edge can be detected. Bell ends the over by guiding the ball into the off side for two runs.

  • Over 85 - England 267/2 (Robson 122, Bell 39)
Robson runs a single off Pradeep before Bell again sees the ball whiz just past his edge, this time twice in a row. The Warwickshire man then cops a painful one to the inside of the thigh after getting a thick inside edge off the last ball of the over.

[betting]Here's the latest odds from Sky Bet, with Sri Lanka huge outsiders at 12/1. However, there's plenty of value in the sub-markets, such as next England wicket to be any method other than caught at 6/4. Bet in-play here.

  • Over 86 - England 277/2 (Robson 127, Bell 44)
Robson again starts the over with a single before Bell flashes a top edge over the slips and down to third man for four runs. Robson gets back on strike after a Bell single and takes his turn to edge one between slips and gully and away to the boundary for four. Drinks are called for after England take 10 from the over in slightly fortuitous circumstances.

  • Over 89 - England 288/3 (Bell 49, Root 5)
Root gets off the mark with a four as he flicks Pradeep off his pads and away to the square leg boundary. A single through mid-off follows before Bell is beaten past the edge with a fuller delivery. The no-ball gremlins then return for Pradeep giving Bell a look at one more delivery, which he guides away through the covers for four.

  • Over 90 - England 289/3 (Bell 49, Root 6)
There is a semi-appeal from Eranga as Root blocks forward with pad and bat together in front of the stumps. Is that another one which hit pad first? Replays and Hot Spot are inconclusive as Root prods a single past backward point to end the over.

  • Over 93 - England 300/3 (Bell 53, Root 13)
Bell takes one in the midriff after Mathews finds some extra bounce. The appeal for lbw falls on deaf ears due to the height and  Bell then cuts one through the off side for two runs, bringing up the 300 for England in the process.

  • Over 95 - England 305/3 (Bell 58, Root 13)
Bell guides Mathews between slips and gully - completely deliberately this time - and away to the boundary for four runs. A single through the leg side is the only other run from the over.

  • Bell c Chandimal b Eranga 64
[wicket]Bell grabs another boundary when he dabs Eranga round the corner and down to the fine leg boundary for four but cannot put a wide and full one away later in the over. Eranga then gets one to nip back in between bat and pad but it misses everything, including the stumps, and goes harmlessly behind to Chandimal. Bell then takes two down to deep point before nicking one behind to the keeper down the leg side! Sri Lanka looked to be merely seeing the overs out this evening but they have a big wicket there.
