Amir Khan v Devon Alexander

    JIM'S IMPRESSED [jim-watt]
Charlo's demolition of Bottai has impressed the Sky Sports pundit.
Lenny Bottai still doesn't know where he is - that was a terrific punch.

He's had his moment in the sun, but Charlo looked a little bit special in there.

    CHARLO ON THE CHARGE[news]
That took Jermall Charlo to 20-0 (16KO) but despite the bravery of Lenny Bottai, who tried his best to get off the floor, it was way too much for him. He is now 22-4 but surely Charlo needs to get ready for bigger fish. Not least IBF light-middleweight holder Cornelius Bundrage

    NEXT UP...[boxing]
It is the second live fight of the night, the talented Abner Mares from Guadalajara, against the experienced Jose Ramirez. It's a featherweight bout that could be a real scrap. It's over 10 rounds...
    12/14/2014 2:38:21 AM
    GREAT START[on-the-floor]
Ramirez was put on his pants within the first 90secs. A lovely body shot from the left put him down in the corner. He did get up but he is taking more and more... this is painful!
    12/14/2014 2:42:04 AM
    TWO-WEIGHT KING
Mares has held world titles at bantamweight and super-bantamweight, but was halted in the first round by Jhonny Gonzalez, the WBC featherweight king.

Ramirez was stopped by Vasyl Lomachenko when the former amateur star made his debut in the paid ranks last October.
    12/14/2014 2:43:19 AM
    ROUND ONE [round-1]
What a start from Mares. He put Ramirez down with that lovely flurry down below and that final shot then floored him. Ramirez was wide open and that is the last thing you do to Mares... invite him in. There was a classic left hook upstairs that clearly hurt and it was one-way and frightening traffic.
    12/14/2014 2:43:59 AM
    ROUND TWO [round-2]
A left hook from Mares started the barrage from the start and he is looking for that early KO... again. He starts with the right over the top, rather than the jab and again his left hook gets home. The experienced Ramirez is doing his best and he doesn't dodge anything, but again he gets caught over the top, this time from the left, then a left-right-left three-punch salvo is sweet as. Mares is a little wild, but all over him again.
    12/14/2014 2:47:07 AM
    STANDING COUNT[referee]
Another big shot from Mares has Ramirez in trouble and this time he is not flat on his back but he is sat on the bottom rope and the ref stepped in for the 8 count...
    12/14/2014 2:51:36 AM
    MARES ON A MISSION [jim-watt]
Jim heaps praise on the Mexican as he continues to search for a stoppage.
This is terrific, this is as good as I've seen for some time.

That is quality from a top quality former champion.

    12/14/2014 2:51:45 AM
    ROUND THREE [round-3]
Give Ramirez credit because he came out in a positive fashion and his right snuck home on the sly. He is getting shots in downstairs and then an uppercut and all of a sudden Mares is wide open. He is though trying to finish it off and he goes in with his right into the ribs. That is the biggest shot of the round and then a left finishes it off and Ramirez went down. Again...
    12/14/2014 2:52:27 AM
    BODY BLOW [ouch]
Ramirez is caught with a vicious right hook to the body and goes down... but doesn't. His knees bend, he is almost down but he is up. Somehow!
    12/14/2014 2:55:02 AM
    SUPER SCRAP [twitter]

    12/14/2014 2:57:02 AM
    ROUND FOUR [round-4]
This getting worse for Ramirez. He takes two big left hooks to the body and then a massive straight right comes in from the other side, as the defence has gone. Mares is on the offensive all the way through and while they are still swapping short shots close-up, it is a cracker. Then Ramirez comes in and is stunned by a straight right. And then the bodyshot does the rest...
    12/14/2014 2:57:20 AM
    ANOTHER COUNT! [on-the-floor]
Mares smashed a left hook to the head and he goes down again... he takes the 8 and he is up though. The gumshield comes out but he wants to carry on.
    12/14/2014 2:59:25 AM
    POINT OFF[referee]
Ramirez is penalised for spitting out his gumshield and surely this is a 10-7 round now.
    12/14/2014 3:00:29 AM
    FEEL THE POWER!
Abner Mares puts Jose Ramirez on the seat of his pants.

    12/14/2014 3:02:25 AM
    ROUND FIVE[round-5]
This is madness! Ramirez goes down to a body shot, then although he gets up, the gumshield goes and then he loses another point for that. Mares then hit him with the right-left-right down the barrel and he did well to make it to the end of this one. It was grim for the experienced Mexican.
    12/14/2014 3:02:53 AM
    IT'S OVER[tko]
The doctors take a look, his trainer doesn't need a look and then finally, Jose Ramirez is spared any more pain. Abner Mares was all over him like a painful rash and wanted to finish it off in style. He didn't but he did the rest. A proper, proper, brawl. Well worth watching that one!

    THE THURMAN SHOW
Keith 'One Time' Thurman is coming up next against Leonard Bundu and you can expect fireworks. The unbeaten Florida man has picked up 23 wins, with 21 coming inside the distance. Bundu is well known on these shores for wins over Lee Purdy and Frankie Gavin, but could be up against it.

    [betting]THURMAN V BUNDU
Keith Thurman touches gloves with 6/1 underdog Leonard Bundu next. Thurman is the big favourite at 1/12, with a knock-out win very much expected (4/9) by the bookies. Sky Bet are offering 20/1 for it to come in the opening round. Bet on Fight Night here.

    IT'S SHOWTIME
Jimmy Lennon Jr, the other MC with the booming voice, announces both fighters. The 40-year-old Bundu looks focused and ready for action. Thurman, sporting a natty stars and stripes jacket, has a confident swagger about him. Here we go.

[referee] A lightning left from Thurman dumps Bundu on his pants.
    12/14/2014 3:20:44 AM
    ROUND ONE [round-1] [referee]
A tentative start from both men in the opening minute as they stick out range-finding jabs. WOAH! Spoke too soon. A lightning left from Thurman dumps Bundu on his pants. He rises quickly, but has quickly learnt about his opponent's power. The Italian withstands a crunching body shot before the bell.
    12/14/2014 3:22:06 AM
    BAD START FOR BUNDU
    Thurman sends his opponent tumbling.

    12/14/2014 3:23:34 AM
    THURMANATOR![jim-watt]
Jim is more than impressed with that start...

I didn't expect Thurman to be so cute. I thought he was going to be more gung-ho!

    12/14/2014 3:24:04 AM
    ROUND TWO [round-2]
Thurman displays neat footwork, skipping out of range after fierce flurries of punches. Bundu's legs briefly buckle as he receives another stream of punches. This could be a painful night for the veteran, who briefly bullies the American to the ropes. But's it's all Thurman and he's bossing this.

We catch up with Amir out in Vegas...
    12/14/2014 3:27:15 AM
    ROUND THREE [round-3]
Bundu, at last, starts to land. A looping left hand catches the backpeddling Thurman. The Italian smiles after his first breakthrough. Thurman switches to southpaw and rips a punch through his opponent's guard. More nice movement from 'One Time' as he nimbly avoids a baffled Bundu.

Amir warms up in his dressing room.

    12/14/2014 3:33:19 AM
    ROUND FOUR [round-4]
Thurman switches his stinging jab from head to body. Bundu is struggling to get past his accurate left and is not offering much in return. His clumsy attack is easily avoided by Thurman, who darts forward with more swift punches. Bundu answers with a left, but it's another round to the American.
    12/14/2014 3:34:15 AM
    ROUND FIVE [round-5]
Some jeers from the crowd as they are impatiently awaiting a knockout, but this is an entertaining fight. Thurman is showcasing his slick ring skills and Bundu is still very much in it. He lands with a left, but Thurman responds with some crunching body shots. He appears to be trying to guide Bundu onto a fight finishing punch and lets fly with some decent right and left hands.
    12/14/2014 3:38:48 AM
    ROUND SIX [round-6]
Bundu misses wildly with a looping left hand. Thurman is far more accurate with his right hand and is starting to plant his feet, putting even more power into his punches. An uppercut clips Bundu as he marches forward and the Italian could walk onto something. A big right, just before the bell, draws a concerned look from Bundu.
    12/14/2014 3:42:20 AM
    COOL KEITH[johnny-nelson]
He is on top but Thurman is playing it smart, says Johnny...
It's gave me a smile when the crowd started booing him. He is making this so easy and I feel sorry for Bundu. Thurman is making it look, so, so, so easy.

    12/14/2014 3:44:04 AM
    ROUND SEVEN [round-7]
A few more jeers from the restless crowd, but Thurman sticks to his disciplined boxing. He continues to control Bundu with his jab, although he briefly loses his footing on the ring apron. Bundu is struggling to tag an elusive foe and punches air with a crude combination. Thurman has spent much of the round on the back foot and should have added another to his growing tally.
    12/14/2014 3:46:42 AM
    ROUND EIGHT [round-8]
Thurman sneaks a body shot under Bundu's guard. But the Italian produces a determined response, firing back with some punches of his own. Bundu needs to show more ambition if he's going to turn this around. The 40-year-old spends much of the round on the front foot with Thurman backing off. Not for long. Thurman rips in a right which briefly staggers Bundu and they both exchange shots before the bell. Decent action.
    12/14/2014 3:50:09 AM
    BUNDU FRUSTRATING THURMAN
The Italian refuses to buckle in Vegas.

    12/14/2014 3:50:31 AM
    ROUND NINE [round-9]
Thurman continues to box neatly on  the reverse. Is he feeling the pace, or maybe he's hurt his hand? He sticks out  a tentative jab, but Bundu replies with a stiff left of his own. Some crisp counters from Thurman as the Italian marches forward with little head movement. The Florida man is winning the rounds, but is this enough for the fans? In the closing seconds both fighters trade punches and Thurman shows his superior power.

Eddie realises Bundu is a tough and tricky test...

    12/14/2014 3:55:23 AM
    ROUND 10 [round-10]
A clash of heads, but thankfully no damage for either fighter. More Jabs from Thurman bounce off the brave Bundu. Still he comes forward, but is struggling to find a meaningful punch. Thurman is using his punches wisely and shoots some stiff right and left hands around Bundu's guard. Accurate work, although his opponent remains on his feet.
    12/14/2014 3:58:49 AM
    ROUND 11 [round-11]
Bundu knows the fight is slipping away and tries to raise the tempo. This tactic fails to work as Thurman, with his fast feet, stays out of range, occasionally leaping in with sharp counters. There is a swelling under Thurman's eye, but he is winning this clearly. Bundu's effort cannot be faulted but all the quality is coming from Thurman who whips in more punches.
    12/14/2014 4:02:31 AM
    CALM BUT NO STORM[jim-watt]
He is in control but Jim wonders if this is what we expected...
I was complimenting his talent in the early rounds. We know he has the strength and the power but the problem is it is sort of slipped into a little rut since there.
