Quick check on matters in Paris. Wasps are 7-6 up with half an hour gone, Tom Varndell scoring a superb early try. Remember, it's the second leg of this play-off and Wasps won the first leg 30-29. Alexandre Flanquert and James Haskell have just been sin-binned after a minor scuffle. The winners qualify for next season's European Rugby Champions Cup.

  • LATEST: STADE 6-10 WASPS (35 mins)
Andy Goode nails a penalty. Four-point lead today, five overall for Wasps now....
    5/24/2014 1:27:53 PM
Half-time in Paris and it's looking good for Wasps. They look the better team out there, and the overall lead over two legs is five points. Tom Varndell's try, and a conversion and penalty from Andy Goode account for their ten, with Stade replying with two penalties. Game on in the second half! You can watch it live on Sky Sports 2.

  • So, we're concentrating on the greatest game here, but don't forget, elsewhere on these pages, the Championship play-off is coming up at 3pm on Sky Sports 1. The Heineken Cup final follows it at 5pm on Sky Sports 2, then there is the small matter of the Champions League final back on SS1. I mean come just doesn't get better.....
    5/24/2014 1:41:17 PM
  • Dominant in defence, creative on the counter. The final challenge awaits. @Saracens
  • Former Wasps and Scotland star Hugo Southwell is chuffed to bits with his old pals in Paris...."10-6 up, away from home, they've silenced the home fans. That first 20 minutes was absolutely key. They didn't put a foot wrong. Everything was spot on."
    5/24/2014 1:43:32 PM
  • Paul Wallace is backing his old club Saracens all the way today - he believes they will be a bit more hungrier than Toulon and thinks it will go there way today. Mind you the former prop has got some concerns over the scrum: "While Carl Hayman has never been the same force as he was before they changed the scrum laws,  I'm not sure about Matt Stevens at tighthead. I really expect Toulon to attack him."
    5/24/2014 2:00:10 PM
  • Final touches in hand for the opening ceremony

    5/24/2014 2:04:08 PM
  • LATEST: STADE 6-10 WASPS (53mins):
No change to the score but it's just got better for Wasps because flanker Antoine Burban has just been yellow-carded for a very, very, very late challenge on Andy Goode. To the naughty step for you, sir!

  • LATEST: STADE 6-17 WASPS (62 mins)
TRY WASPS! Brilliant stuff from the back-row! James Haskell, the blindside, on to the openside, Ashley Johnson, who offloads to the eight Guy Thompson, who bulldozes over from close range. Goode converts - Wasps are smashing this now!
    5/24/2014 2:21:46 PM
  • [betting]Who do we fancy to cross the line first in the big one then? Here's Sky Bet's odds on the first tryscorer in Cardiff. Bet on the match here.

  • LATEST: STADE 6-17 WASPS (67 mins):
No change to the score, but feel moved to write that James Haskell has been absolutely monumental. Don't know if it's because he's playing his former club, but he has been everywhere. Stuart Lancaster, are you watching this....

  • LATEST: STADE 6-17 WASPS (74 mins):
Game over surely now! Stade's Michael van Vuuren has been sin-binned and Wasps should see this out easily from here. They have been brilliant all afternoon. Stade have been, to be frank, abysmal.
    5/24/2014 2:37:10 PM
  • LATEST: STADE 6-20 WASPS (75 mins):
Andy Goode kicks a penalty - I say kicks, more scuffs - that should book their place in the Rugby Champions Cup next season.
    5/24/2014 2:40:14 PM
  • If Toulon win today Bryan Habana will join an exclusive club of players who have won the World Cup, as well as Super rugby and Heineken Cup titles. Can you name the other three players?

  • FT: STADE 6-20 WASPS
Dai Young's men have done it! In the end, a convincing victory over a desperately poor Stade Francais team. The Paris aristocrats have lots of star names, yes, but a team they are not. Wasps will play in the Rugby Champions Cup next season and deservedly so.
    5/24/2014 2:49:47 PM
  • Full time and a huge win for Wasps over Stade Francais! A great performance in a 20-6 win. Reaction on SS2 and here:
