    [round-4]ROUND FOUR
Goodjohn again hits him hard as he's on his way but again Boylan soaks it up. He looks like he wants to get in there and brawl because his body shots are the best defence it would seem. Goodjohn springs forward with precision and bang-bang-bang, those lefts lead the way. He now starts jabbing and it splits those gloves and land square. Another issues because Boyaln seems too easy to hit
    10/11/2014 8:25:14 PM
    [round-5]ROUND FIVE
Boylan starts on the ropes but Goodjohn doesn't come rushing in and he can be pushed back and is caught by a short, sharp left and right hit home. But then within seconds it looks to be a repeat performances as Boylan again comes in but this time Goodjohn stays back and lands a lovely counter shot, the left hook a precise, almost perfect shot. Probably the best shot of the fight so far and then he shifts it round and he is on the front foot now. He jabs and moves, lands a left and eases off, almost at will. Boylan looks like he is feeling it and Goodjohn seems to be getting better as the fight goes on.
    10/11/2014 8:29:32 PM
    [jim-watt]JIM IS IMPRESSED WITH GOODJOHN:
He's measuring the range perfectly. There's little coming back and when there is, they're off target. That was a lovely left hook in that round.

    10/11/2014 8:29:40 PM
    [round-6]ROUND SIX
The momentum shifts again, with Boylan cornering him and letting go. He does lands three, four, five short, sharp shots with Goodjohn trapped. He manages to squirm free but he is clearly marked up and this time there is no response. He dances around and again Boylan pins him in and does well. Goodjohn's right eye seems to be badly cut and the nose is bloodied and all of a sudden he is not having it all his own way. Boylan finishes on top which is what he needed.
    10/11/2014 8:33:33 PM
    [cut-above-eye]CUT
Goodjohn has a bad cut on the right eyelid, officially caused by a clash of heads, presumably in that fierce Boylan pressure at the start of the sixth - and against the ropes.
    10/11/2014 8:34:48 PM
    [round-7]ROUND SEVEN
Well this starts hard. Not clean punches but plenty of pressure. Boylan edging the aggression, Goodjohn landing more shots, but not as good as the last two rounds. It is nip and tuck and although Boylan goes in with left-right head shots and Goodjohn still lands his left and then his own jab at range, that was a pick 'em round, it really was.
    10/11/2014 8:37:39 PM
    10/11/2014 8:39:50 PM
    [round-8]ROUND EIGHT
Baylon just shuffles forward, not hiding what he is up to. But this time Goodjohn does not get caught and counters again, the lovely left twice hitting him on the way in again. That is where we were a couple of rounds ago and Goodjohn seems to have a spring back in his step and again he lets off a combo and even if they don't land, he spins away, backs off and calls Boylan in again. Ricky still aims the shorts shors and he does well, moving upstairs more often than not, but he is still caught clean. That left hook from Goodjohn is a pearler!
    10/11/2014 8:41:58 PM
    [jim-watt]IT'S A CLOSE ONE:
I have the last two rounds as a round a piece and it's a close one but I have the cleaner boxing coming from Goodjohn. These last two rounds could be crucial though.

    10/11/2014 8:42:49 PM
    [round-9]ROUND NINE
This time Boylan comes in shorter and harder but again Goodjohn offers a nice counter left and then jumps out of the way. He is steering clear and when they do get in close, Boylan does get through but again he caught in the final punch, a short, check hook upstairs is nice. He is getting caight but he is still throwing multiple combos when he can and he does get throuh but in the last 30 seconds the pair stand toe-to-toe, both swapping bodyshots. That is Boylan's stregnth but this time Goodjohn doesnt jump on his bike, buy matches shot for shot. A lovely round.
    10/11/2014 8:46:17 PM
    [round-10]FINAL ROUND
This is it! Both get a huge round of applause but it seems that Goodjohn is ahead on the cards. But can Boylan find something special? We will see...
    10/11/2014 8:47:18 PM
    [jim-watt]A CRACKER, SAYS JIM!:
Full credit to Boylan because he hasn't found himself in this position before and he dealt with it well. Fair play if the judges have it closer but what a great fight that was from both these two boys.

    10/11/2014 8:50:13 PM
    [round-10]ROUND TEN
Boylan behind the expected final round fury but this time Goodjohn does keep him on the move and he does land again on the counter. But Boylan keeps on coming and at one stage he is back against the ropes with his man trapped but this time he doesn't land many of those bodyshots and another right lands in return. Boylan chases him down but cannot get close and he keeps getting caught, the jab the one that keeps him at bay. And that is that... what a fight, and surely Goodjohn will get it...
    10/11/2014 8:50:38 PM
    [judges]TO THE JUDGES
    Here they... 96-96... 96-94... 96-94...a unanimous decision...
    10/11/2014 8:52:48 PM
    [judges]TO THE JUDGES
And Tyler Goodjohn is the new... English light-weight champion! What a fight and what a win and no-one can argue, surely?
    10/11/2014 8:53:46 PM

    Goodjohn gets the decision!

    10/11/2014 8:54:42 PM
    [boxing]TYLER GOODJOHN REVELS IN GLORY:
I'm absolutely over the moon. This is four years of hard work. There've been some real up and downs. I did it for my family, for Peter Sims who stuck by me through some hard times. Ricky's a strong kid so I didn't want to just stand there and take one from him.

    10/11/2014 8:55:45 PM
[boxing]BOYLAN REFUSES TO BLAME DISRUPTED CAMP:
It was nothing to do with training camp. When Tyler was moving I couldn't get my shots off. I didn't do as well as I should have but all respect to Tyler - he's English champion and the best of luck to him in the future. I knew it was close. I was flying fitness-wise.

David Price and Glenn McCrory are at ringside
