NatWest T20 Blast - June 27

Coverage of the start of Game Week 7, focusing on Yorkshire v Lancashire

  • We're facing a delayed start at Headingley, at the very best

  • 6/27/2014 4:01:44 PM

  • 6/27/2014 4:15:07 PM
  • Conditions didn't look that great earlier on at Bristol but play appears likely to get going on time - teams to follow for Gloucestershire v Kent.

  • 6/27/2014 4:19:59 PM
  • So things are starting to look up around the country, and we're hopeful this bad weather will clear Headingley in time for at least a limited limited limited overs clash.
    6/27/2014 4:20:36 PM
  • Another game starts...

    6/27/2014 5:58:50 PM
  • That Dilshan v Maxwell battle at the Kia Oval didn't last long thanks to that pesky Gareth Batty, scourge of all Somerset players and fans (and yes, I am biased!). The spinner removed the big-hitting Aussie for only 4 and Hampshire are struggling on 47-4.
    6/27/2014 6:04:29 PM
  • We have an abandonment. Not at Headingley but in Worcester, where the Rapids have been slowed by rain. Their clash with the Notttinghamshire Outlaws is toast.

  • Grey and miserable scene here at Headingley for tonight's @NatWestT20Blast match between @Yorkshireccc and @LancsCCC https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BrJ-wmiCAAA_7UO.jpg
  • My man on the spot in Leeds tells me the news is not good. Weather continuing to be a pain in the proverbial. Really enjoying watching Aaron Finch's knock from a few weeks ago on Sky Sports 2 HD at the moment but would be nicer seeing some live sport.
    6/27/2014 6:17:11 PM
  • Somerset's innings at home to Essex is complete on 150/7. Disappointing for the home side, you would have to say. Top scorer with 40 off 37 balls was former England keeper Craig Kieswetter. Graham Napier with 2-32 for the visitors.
    6/27/2014 6:18:50 PM
  • Match abandoned! 1pt apiece for Yorks & Lancs. Big shame #T20Blast
  • MATCH ABANDONED AT HEADINGLEY
What a massive shame for the 18,000 supporters who were expected for tonight's game. Stay with Sky Sports 2 HD for the conclusion of the game from Old Trafford a few weeks ago.

  • 6/27/2014 6:25:32 PM
  • We'll try again at Trent Bridge tomorrow for Notts v Yorks. Joins us on SS2 from 2pm for that one. In the meantime, WI v NZ on SS3...
  • This might explain the problem!

  • 6/27/2014 6:39:44 PM

  • 6/27/2014 6:39:54 PM
  • We've hit the point of controversy on Sky Sports 2 where Lancashire were penalised six runs for a slow over-rate. The crowd is about to erupt!
    6/27/2014 6:40:55 PM
  • RESULT - SURREY BEAT HAMPSHIRE BY EIGHT WICKETS
An absolute shellacking at the Kia Oval where the South Group leaders are beaten out of sight by a star-studded Surrey side. A target of 132 for victory, which was more than expected at one point, proved nothing for the Brown Caps/Lions/simply Surrey batsmen to overcome. Azhar Mahmood took 3-38 for Surrey but it was Jason Roy who stole the show with some incredible hitting. The opener bashed nine fours and three sixes in a 25-ball knock of 63. Kevin Pietersen (24no) added a couple of late sixes as they eased home in 14 overs, Gary Wilson finishing off with a six.
    6/27/2014 7:47:12 PM
  • RESULT - ESSEX BEAT SOMERSET BY EIGHT WICKETS (D/L)
Easy for the Eagles as well, as they overcome a late break for bad light to ease home at Taunton with six balls to spare. Somerset tallied 150/7 with Craig Kieswetter scoring 40 but Mark Pettini held Essex together with 60 off 52 balls with Jesse Ryder adding 28 and Ravi Bopara an unbeaten 33 off 21.
    6/27/2014 7:49:17 PM

  • 6/27/2014 7:49:59 PM
  • Wes Durston is absolutely taking the Warwickshire attack apart in Derby. He's just reached his 50 with a six off his 21st ball. They are 78-2 off only 6.4 overs.
    6/27/2014 7:55:28 PM
  • And we would now like to make an official apology to Derbyshire and Wes Durston - seconds after we hit post, he holed out to Will Porterfield off the bowling of Shoaib Malik for 53.
