  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
SHOT! The Sunderland fans are loving this and Mourinho will not enjoy that last passage of play. Twice they give away possession cheaply but it's all down to Sunderland pressing and the ball falls to Wickham from 35 yards who curls the ball high and wide - good signs for the hosts though.

  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
With Hazard smashing a poor shot off target, let's remind ourselves that this is the 13th game of the season for both teams. Unlucky? Even if you are feeling unlucky, why not banish those negative thoughts by viewing Sunderland's magnificent mascot - please meet Delilah.

    11/29/2014 5:42:50 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
SHOT! Chelsea's movement off the ball is brilliant but still no cutting edge. Time for Oscar to weave some magic and he dances around three players on the edge of the box and his low tame shot is easily scooped up by Pantilimon.
    11/29/2014 5:45:14 PM
WOODWORK! And that's the danger. Sunderland forward in numbers and they waste a free-kick. They're struggling at the back when Chelsea break away, gaps everywhere, Costa surges forward, plays the ball back to Willian who smashes the ball against the base of the left upright.
    11/29/2014 5:47:48 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
Sunderland still holding on nicely and when the Blues do look dangerous their defenders are up to the task. The latest effort is a smart through-ball from Fabregas to Costa on the penalty box but O'Shea times his tackle to perfection. Brilliant sliding tackle. The danger is snuffed out. Mourinho and his coaching staff look a little edgy on the bench.
    11/29/2014 5:54:15 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
SHOT! Rodwell takes a pop from long range and that's caught easily by Courtois.
    11/29/2014 5:55:18 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
A few jitters on the Chelsea bench perhaps....
    11/29/2014 5:56:26 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[football]
Tensions are rising on the touchline and it's time for both managers to patrol the sidelines and shout new instructions to their boys. Hold on - Sunderland break away, Wickham whips in a beauty from the left, Courtois dives to punch it out, it's a little flappy but then the whistle goes for a Johnson handball. Further evidence of Sunderland's confidence growing.
    11/29/2014 6:01:12 PM
SAVE! Chelsea surge forward and a smart save from Pantilimon keeps out Ivanovic. Signs that the contest is opening up a bit after a pretty gentle half an hour.

  • [sunderland] Poyet turns away in despair as Vergini clips the bar

    11/29/2014 6:05:05 PM
WOODWORK! Oh lordy. That's a let-off for Mourinho's men as Sunderland burst forward on the right, a driven cross is deflected into the path of Vergini from six yards and he hooks the ball over Courtois and onto the bar.
    11/29/2014 6:05:22 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
The closest yet to a goal....will the hosts regret that later?

    11/29/2014 6:07:16 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
We told you tensions were rising....

    11/29/2014 6:08:35 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
If this ends 0-0, all the focus will be on how bad Chelsea were. Chelsea have played pretty nicely (so far) but Sunderland's efforts have been top drawer. Larsson puts in a pair of cracking strong tackles inside the box to deny Oscar and Fabregas. Excellent from the hosts. O'Shea though goes a bit too far with a high tackle on Costa. The wrong man to pick on and Costa is probably fortunate to be held back by Vergini. One minute of added time. Kettle on folks...

Not too many chances up front but it's been an enthralling contest. And just for the record - you know it's on Sky Sports 1 don't you? Get your screens fired up if you want some half-time analysis from Gullit, Redknapp et al.

  • SNF HALF-TIME ANALYSIS [jamieredknapp]
Jamie Redknapp praised Sunderland's Lee Cattermole and his side's defensive organisation at the break.
They've got players behind the ball; Cattermole has been magnificent, sat in front of the back four, stopping any balls getting fed into Costa. The amount of times Cattermole has made blocks - he's been brilliant for his team today.

    11/29/2014 6:24:16 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
Here's a stat that may surprise you. Chelsea haven't kept a clean sheet in the Premier League away from home since the 2-0 win at Liverpool in April.

  • GUS POYET IN PICTURES[sunderland]

  • [kick-off]SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA
We're off again folks. Will the second half bring us any goals?
    11/29/2014 6:32:25 PM
CLOSE! How Cahill gets a head to this looping corner is a miracle. Terry and Costa are closely marshalled by the Sunderland defence but Cahill fights off the attentions of three defenders on a corner and he gets in a clean header but Pantilimon saves easily.
    11/29/2014 6:36:53 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
CLOSE! Chelsea are slowly probing around the edge of the box and the ball comes to Willian, who drops his shoulder and lets fly from 25 yards. It's just wide but he knows he should have done better.
    11/29/2014 6:38:07 PM
OUCH! Brown has been floored by a Costa elbow. He led with the left arm but it was the late right arm that swung round and smacked Brown. Was there intent there? The Sunderland players are fuming, the crowd are demanding a red card. Referee Kevin Friend gets his book out...and it's a yellow. This is a battle. Will Mourinho bring on fresh legs soon after their midweek Champions League exploits?

    11/29/2014 6:44:47 PM
  • [chelsea]SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA
SAVE! Chelsea have resorted to long range shooting and this time it's Fabregas to take a pop from 30 yards. Easy for Pantilimon.
    11/29/2014 6:45:20 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
Chelsea have had 75% of the possession, there's half an hour to go but Sunderland fully deserve to be level. They might even fancy nicking this one if their defence can hold out.
    11/29/2014 6:46:54 PM
  • [substitution]SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA
It's a double sub for Sunderland. Who can blame them? Tiring legs surely. Gomez comes on for Rodwell to shore up the midfield. Altidore on for Fletcher. It's important for Poyet his players don't just sit back in their own box. Mourinho has strikers Drogba and Remy chomping at the bit on the bench.

  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
Costa has been closely followed all afternoon by the Sunderland players. So far, the plan is working....
    11/29/2014 6:53:20 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
SAVE! A few wobbles by Pantilimon but that ball was moving! Matic tries his luck from 25 yards but it eventually lands safely in the keepers' gloves. 22 minutes left. Drogba, donned in a cute bobble hat, is warming up. Ivorian super sub?

    11/29/2014 6:55:15 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
SHOT! GREAT SHOT! Patient play from Sunderland with their opponents looking a little weary. Altidore has looked very sharp as well and Wickham picks the ball up and blasts a corker with very little back-lift. Cracking shot but it's handled safely by Courtois.
    11/29/2014 6:59:21 PM
  • [yellow-card]SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA
The classic 'takes one for the team'. O'Shea trips up Costa with the striker breaking away. There's been no love lost between those two tonight.
    11/29/2014 7:03:13 PM
  • [substitution]SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA
How many years ago would it be that the Chelsea boss would be now shutting up shop content with a draw at Sunderland. Not these days and Mourinho sends on Remy and Drogba for Costa and Oscar.

  • 11/29/2014 7:08:33 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
SHOT! Drogba drags a shot well wide but it's a bit surprising Chelsea haven't changed their gameplan. Sunderland have packed the midfield in front of the back four and they've been pretty comfortable. Surely Chelsea need the ball out wide to stretch the play. Altidore comes close and it's desperate defending from Chelsea. Perhaps Mourinho would settle for a point.
    11/29/2014 7:09:42 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[missed-chance]
MISS! Again it's Altidore causing problems and the ball falls to Johnson who drags his shot wide. Huge groans around the Stadium of Light.
    11/29/2014 7:11:22 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
Wickham has looked first class this afternoon and he surges forward and looks set to fire at goal as Matic comes sliding in to pick up a booking.

    11/29/2014 7:13:30 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[football]
CLOSE! The Chelsea defence is rocking and really on their back foot as Johnson's dipping shot strays just wide.
    11/29/2014 7:14:37 PM
  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[sunderland]
    Two minutes left....
    Wonder who you support?

    Two added minutes....

  • SUNDERLAND 0-0 CHELSEA[chelsea]
Mourinho's at it again and he's shaking hands already. Wonder if Roy Keane saw that one? Fabregas takes a pop from 30 yards...OVER...awful.
