[ssn]Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Souness are getting ready for the Champions League final preview show which is on Sky Sports 1 from 7pm. And all three pundits are expecting Bayern Munich to come out on top against Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund. Neville feels the biggest problem for Bayern could be the anguish of losing in 2010 and 2012, Redknapp expects a tight game, while Souness feels Bayern have 'more special players' than Dortmund.

Here's more on Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis saying he's treated himself to a little birthday present by agreeing a contract with Rafa Benitez. The current interim Chelsea manager is expected to replace Walter Mazzarri on a two-year deal.
I've given myself a gift for my 64th birthday. I'll make it official in the next few days as Benitez needs to end things with Chelsea. He'll have a two-year contract, no longer. We need to get to know each other first, then we'll see.

[ssn]Former Bayern Munich striker Alan McInally has been talking to Sky Sports News at Wembley and one of the things he has been discussing is Arjen Robben. McInally has praised the way the former Chelsea winger has adapted his game this season to be a team player for Bayern.
I know they've worked with Arjen Robben quite intensely, more maybe than some of the other players. Going forward we know what he has, but the way Jupp Heynckes wants his team to play, the duty when he doesn't have the ball is to not be a daydreamer. It's to get in front of Philipp Lahm and do his defensive duty. I'm maybe more surprised that he has adhered to every single thing he's been told, but he knows if he doesn't do it, he doesn't play in the team.

The Champions League final preview show has started on Sky Sports 1 and Graeme Souness believes Bayern Munich were unlucky when losing in the 2010 and 2012 finals. However, he expects Bayern to prove too strong for Borussia Dortmund at Wembley tomorrow night.
It's added pressure, the fact they're playing a German team. I've been to the two finals they've lost in recent years and I thought they deserved to win both of them. They were unlucky in both games, but that counts for nothing tomorrow night. They're the best team, they won the Bundesliga by a distance, scoring the most goals, conceding the fewest and they don't look to have any obvious weaknesses.
    5/24/2013 6:07:18 PM

Perhaps the biggest piece of team news leading up to the final came when Mario Gotze was ruled out for Borussia Dortmund due to injury. Gotze is joining Bayern Munich in the summer and Gary Neville feels missing the Wembley final is something that could cloud the playmaker's career.
I'm surprised he's not fit. It's a muscle injury and it has been three weeks, and you've seen Iniesta, Henry play. I thought he would have played, even if he wasn't quite 100 per cent. That's going to hang over him in Germany for the rest of his career. The timing of the signing for him and Dortmund was terrible, it only suited Bayern. Could he have played and pushed himself? I thought he would be out there.

Jamie Redknapp has praised the improvement of Bayern Munich this season after losing to Chelsea on penalties 12 months ago. Redknapp believes Brazilian centre-half Dante has been an impressive signing from Borussia Monchengladbach.
He's one of the bargains of the century. They've got incredible value out of this guy. He knows how to defend, he's a good age for a defender and at £3.8million, what value that is. He has shored them up completely. I always felt with Boateng and Van Buyten, you could expose them and they lacked that little bit of know-how. Dante's so calm on the ball, he always seems to play the right pass. He's defensively bright and he puts out fires. He's a really good player.

[garyneville]Tomorrow's game will decide the best team in Europe, but Gary Neville feels that, whatever the outcome, Borussia Dortmund will still be the most exciting team. Neville has been reflecting on Dortmund's performances against the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid this season.
They are the most exciting team in Europe by a long way. They and Bayern will decide which is the best team, but Dortmund are the team we've been most invigorated by. Going back to the game against City, the game against Real Madrid and the experience of being there behind that goal with the Dortmund fans. There's an incredible team spirit and the team ethic is absolutely outstanding.

  • [bn]Inter Milan have sacked coach Andrea Stramaccioni and replaced him with Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri on a two-year contract.
    5/24/2013 6:48:11 PM

It may have seemed like Rafa Benitez was set to take the Napoli job a couple of hours ago, but club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has now clarified those comments. De Laurentiis says he has agreed a deal with who he wants to replace Walter Mazzarri, but is unable to name him publicly as he is still under contract with another club.

Here's more on Inter Milan's decision to sack Andrea Stramaccioni and replace him with Walter Mazzarri. Stramaccioni was dismissed after 14 months in charge and had failed to secure European qualification for next season. • [bn]Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the appointment of Gary Bowyer as the club's new manager on a rolling 12-month contract.
    5/24/2013 7:34:06 PM

Here's more on the confirmation that Gary Bowyer has been handed the Blackburn Rovers job on a full-time basis after two spells in caretaker charge this season. Bowyer has been at Ewood Park for nine years and is looking forward to his new role.
It is a huge honour and a proud moment for me. I have been at the club for nine years, I know the traditions. The foundation of the club was built on hard work and that is what we need to produce.  The supporters want to see the players out there playing for the shirt and giving it their all. We need the players to show the same passion that the fans gave us during our last six games where we just lost the once.
    5/24/2013 7:50:01 PM

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has been explaining his decision to sack Andrea Stramaccioni and appoint Walter Mazzarri as the club's new coach.
All sackings are not good, but it’s a change due to the fact that this next season will be a difficult year and I thought there was the need of a coach with Mazzarri’s experience. Anyway, there is still regard for the talent and the possibilities of Stramaccioni, and I’m convinced he will become one of the best Italian coaches. Mazzarri is a choice made with attention. Now, we will see what we will do during the transfer window. We have a coach with whom we will talk about this and then we will see what will happen.

[ssn]Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been talking to Sky Sports News about Jose Mourinho's potential return to Stamford Bridge as manager. Cech, and team-mate David Luiz, would welcome the chance to play under the outgoing Real Madrid coach next season.
He knows the club, he knows the environment, he knows English football and the Premier League. I think this is a big advantage. He might find a slightly different club than when he was leaving, but he will still find a club full of ambition and expectation and hunger to win trophies. This is the most important thing.

After Gibraltar were granted UEFA membership earlier today, Graeme Bailey spoke to the national team's head coach Allen Bula, who acknowledged it was a dream come true.
This is truly an historic day for everyone connected with Gibraltar, our nation as a whole. This has been a really long road, but with the help of so many people - including yourselves - we have made it, and it is wonderful. So many times we could have been put off, told not to continue this battle - but we knew we were fighting a just cause and would never give up.

It's the FA Women's Cup final on Sunday when the dominant force of English football - Arsenal Ladies - meet Bristol Academy at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium. The two clubs met in the 2011 final when Arsenal won 2-0, but Bristol have enjoyed a fine start to the Women's Super League season.
