DA Points sank a superb 13-foot putt on the 18th to clinch victory in the Houston Open. Points had been having a terrible year coming into the event, missing seven cuts in his last nine events. However, he closed with a six-under 66 in the final round, saving par on the last two holes at Redstone Golf Club to outlast Masters-bound Henrik Stenson and Billy Horschel.
It's been a really tough year. To have a putt to win, you always want that starting out every week.

Former senior Labour party MP David Miliband has stepped down from his role at Sunderland following the appointment of Paolo Di Canio as head coach because of the Italian's political views.
I wish Sunderland AFC all success in the future. It is a great institution that does a huge amount for the North East and I wish the team very well over the next vital seven games. However, in the light of the new manager's past political statements, I think it right to step down.

Paul Nicholson pulled off a stunning comeback to keep his hopes alive at the European Darts Trophy in Germany. Nicholson was 5-1 down against Colin Lloyd but fought back superbly to win 6-5 win to join big guns Michael van Gerwen, Wes Newton and John Part in the last 16 in Sindelfingen.
I keep winning 6-5 - I did it against Ronny Huybrechts in the first round too, and I don't want to keep doing that. I don't know how I won that but it's great to be through.

It was important for us to get a win. We had lost our last three games in all competitions, so it was important to stop the rot and try to kick on. We're still in the running for our objectives and hopefully we can fulfil them. We're in a great position now for Champions League qualification and that's the most important thing.

Arsenal forward Gervinho played a key role in the Gunners' 4-1 win over Reading on Saturday, scoring the opener and notching two assists. Manager Arsene Wenger does not consider him to be "clinical" in front of goal but feels he would score more if he relaxed.
Honestly, he is not a clinical finisher. When he is completely relaxed, he's quite good. He rushes his finishing because when he arrives in front of the goal he wants to get rid of it. The big goalscorers just pass it in and that's what he has to learn.

Andre Villas-Boas says Tottenham dream of lifting the UEFA Europa League trophy after reaching the quarter-finals, but knows finishing in the top four of the Premier League is the most important thing for Spurs this season.
Now we are in the Europa League quarter-finals we can only dream of winning the trophy. It has the same importance as every game we play, although I understand that it is always the league position that determines the success of the season.

Everton saw off Stoke 1-0 on Saturday to leave them four points outside of the Premier League top four places and Toffees goalkeeper Tim Howard believes a UEFA Champions League spot is not beyond David Moyes' men this season.

Relegation-threatened Wigan grabbed what could prove to be a crucial 1-0 victory over Norwich on Saturday as in-form Arouna Kone snatched a late winner. That strike marked his sixth goal in as many games and team-mate Emmerson Boyce has paid tribute to the Ivorian, who has now netted 12 goals this season.
When you're in this sort of situation, you need someone like Arouna who can score a crucial goal. Getting into double figures in this league is no mean feat and he's come into great form at the right time of the season, just when we needed him to.

There are seven games to go and they are all going to be huge, but they have a lot of injuries - Steven Fletcher and Lee Cattermole are out for the season - and it is going to be difficult.
