Ahead of the Manchester derby, United have stressed they will never sell the naming rights to Old Trafford following confirmation present shirt sponsors AON have agreed an eight-year contract to put their name to the Carrington training ground.
From July 1, Carrington will be known as the 'AON Training Complex' and forms a central part of a wide-ranging deal that also includes sponsorship of United's training kit, their annual summer tours and, for the first time, friendly matches.
No figures are being put on the contract but it is thought to be less than the £20million annual sum AON agreed to pay when they became United's shirt sponsors in a deal that will expire in 2014.

We're counting down to Monday Night Football all day and ahead of this titanic clash, Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has stoked the fires by saying his side are the equal of local rivals Manchester United, despite the fact they are well off the pace in the fight for the title. Second-placed City trail Premier League leaders United by 15 points ahead of Monday's derby showdown at Old Trafford but Mancini refuses to accept their inferiority and said:
We know we can beat them because they are not better than us. This is sure, 100 per cent. We deserved to win the game at the Etihad (in December, which United won 3-2 with a stoppage-time winner). Like them, we are a strong team. There is no difference.

Butch Harmon has revealed his tips for the Masters. He thinks Rory McIlroy will have a good tournament but says Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are the men to beat:
Tiger and Phil are always going to be the two favourites because the course lends itself to them and they have extensive knowledge of it.

Manchester City head into their Monday Night Football clash trailing local rivals United by 15 points and with little but pride to play for. When City won the Premier League title last May, some were predicting a power shift but the trophy is all but certain to be heading back to Old Trafford. As the teams prepare to do battle again on Monday, Adam Bate looks at the reasons why City's momentum was halted.

Manchester United's 6-1 demolition by rivals City last season is inspiring Sir Alex Ferguson for Monday night's Premier League Sky live showdown at Old Trafford.
We were the better team until they scored right on half-time. Then we had a man sent off just after half-time and we still kept chasing the game. That was us playing with the history books instead of our brains. It will be different this time.

St Mirren have announced they will not be voting in favour of the proposed restructuring of the Scottish League at next Monday's meeting of SPL clubs.
The concept of playing 22 games prior to breaking into three leagues of eight, including the middle eight losing their points gained in the first series of games, is not a system we see as taking the game forward in the long term. You will be aware that other countries have tried this system and have since rejected such a set up.

After a pulsating weekend of Heineken Cup action, our chief rugby writer Tony Curtis has picked out some names that could be wildcard picks for the upcoming Lions tour to Australia, including a certain resurgent World Cup winner.
It seems impossible to consider that a player of the stature of Jonny Wilkinson could be a wildcard for the Lions, however it is 18 months since his last international appearance. Wilkinson, though, has been enjoying some of the best form of his career with Toulon and with the Lions short on options at No 10, he could be the perfect cover for Jonathan Sexton and Owen Farrell.

Back to the Masters, which will be taking over the golfing world this week, and after a fine display in Texas, Rory McIlroy is delighted he opted to play in the event at the last minute and will now head to Augusta with confidence after a bad start to 2013.

Interesting quotes from Reading striker Adam Le Fondre on the back of his side's defeat to Southampton at the weekend. He's not happy with Saints hit-man Jay Rodriguez, who he believes should have been sent off for his challenge on Adam Federici that led to him to opening the scoring.
You would have thought it would have been a red card, wouldn't you? It's that little bit of luck that you get. The referee did not see it, Rodriguez went straight through Feds and they get a goal.

[skybet] Rory McIlroy's second place in Texas has seen his odds to win the Masters shorten from 11/1 to 8/1 with Sky Bet - who report that Tiger Woods is still the man everyone wants to back.
In his two previous Major titles, the Northern Irishman came fifth both weeks prior to winning, evidence of the importance of finding some form heading to Augusta. However, Woods remains the man attracting the majority of the backing with a McIlroy triumph, something which we usually fear, a good result for us as things stand.
