  • MOURINHO RETURNS

[ssn]Ron Harris, a Chelsea legend between 1961-1980, has been giving us some of his thoughts on Jose Mourinho’s move back to the club.
I think 95 per cent of the Chelsea supporters are pleased Jose is back. I feel that the supporters will be more than happy and I think it is a pat on the back for Roman Abramovich in bringing Jose Mourinho back to the club.

Jose Mourinho’s first press conference is going to be like seeing the Rolling Stones or The Beatles! But let’s put it in perspective, Mourinho is a very talented manager. There is no doubt about that. You only have to look at his previous clubs.

Two of the best six best points tallies in Premier League history were by Chelsea under Jose Mourinho (2004/05 and 2005/06). Two of Mourinho’s three full seasons in charge of Chelsea were the best the club have ever seen. In his final full season (2006/07), he still led the side to second place and 83 points - eight more than they secured in 2012/13 (75).

  • MOURINHO RETURNS

[skybet]Chelsea’s Premier League title odds have been cut to 9/4 with Sky Bet after confirmation of Jose Mourinho’s return to the club on a four-year deal. Sky Bet say…
Big things are inevitably expected from Jose Mourinho and he looks the most likely manager to hit the ground running, with main title rivals Manchester United and Manchester City employing men with no title-winning experience in the Premier League. Punters certainly seem convinced that he will do the business and, quite remarkably, we have seen over 10 times as much money on Chelsea than Manchester City in our Premier League 2013/14 outright book.

  • MOURINHO RETURNS

[ssn]Sky Sports’ Revista de La Liga presenter and former Chelsea player Scott Minto has given us his reaction to the reappointment of Jose Mourinho.
I do not think it is any bigger than the Real Madrid job. I think that is the biggest job out there. I would almost equate Chelsea to being the English equivalent of Real Madrid in the sense that, under Roman Abramovich, they have spent so much money it is not just about winning trophies anymore.

[raywilkins] Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has a thirst for Champions League glory, but Ray Wilkins says Jose Mourinho's main aim will be to land the Premier League title.
Finishing third or fourth is no good to Chelsea - they need to be finishing up there and fighting for the Premier League. I know the Champions League is a great trophy but the best trophy you can win is your domestic trophy. That shows consistency and a level of performance over 38 games. Anything else becomes a bit of a bonus.

  • MOURINHO RETURNS

Jose Mourinho has revealed it did not take him long to make his mind up to come back to Chelsea after meeting club owner Roman Abramovich.
It was an easy decision. I met the boss, I met the owner and in five minutes after a couple of very short but pragmatic questions, we decided straight away. I asked the boss 'do you want me back?' and the boss asked me 'do you want to come back?' and in a couple of minutes, the decision was made.
