Our man in Israel, Jon Holmes, looks at how the Premier League's youth quota rule has proven itself ineffective for the England team.
'Home-grown' doesn't necessarily help the Home Nations, never mind just England. With the rule stipulating that players in question have to be trained by an English or Welsh FA club for three years before they hit 21, it simply means the clubs are working harder to recruit talented youngsters from overseas before their 18th birthday. Then, they play the waiting game - will it be a bumper harvest, or will the crop wither on the vine?

Australia batsman David Warner has been facing the media for the first time since being banned until the start of the Ashes for punching England's Joe Root in a bar in Birmingham last week.
I'm here to put my hands up and apologise. I'm extremely remorseful and know I've let down team-mates, fans and family down. I am sincerely apologetic.
Warner, who pleaded guilty to breaching Cricket Australia's code of behaviour, revealed he had been in contact with Root by text message.
I exchanged text messages with Joe, he accepted my apology which I am thoroughly grateful for and it won't come to that circumstance again. I wont deny I had a couple of drinks, but there's no excuse for that. I did what I did and it's totally out of line. It should not have happened.
Asked if he had a drink problem, Warner replied:
Definitely not, I don't think I have a drinking problem at all.
