[niallquinn] Spain and Germany will celebrate double triumphs in the Champions League this week, says Niall Quinn. Read his thoughts in full here
Bayern Munich are a team absolutely full of confidence at the moment and they showed that again with a 9-2 win over Hamburg at the weekend. Lots of people from the word 'go' saw them as potential Champions League winners and as a team they seem to be beginning to really believe it themselves as well.

Huddersfield's Michael Lawrence made his first appearance of the season on Monday and was delighted to be able to get on the scoresheet in a 62-6 victory against Widnes. He told the Giants' official website:
I was a bit nervous before the game, because you never know how the ankle is going to hold up after you've suffered ligament damage. But it felt strong and I managed to get through the full 80 minutes with very little trouble. On top of that, Shaun Lunt put me over for a try, so there's no reason to complain at all.

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is so desperate to win a trophy with the Gunners that he claims he would swap all his personal achievements for some silverware.
I would personally take all of my appearances away to win something at this club. Some people may think I'm mad but I think I'm not selfish. I like to think for the club and the fans. Appearances are great but winning things means more. Hopefully next season, when I hopefully reach 300 appearances, there will be a trophy on the end of that. That's the biggest target.

The Yorkshire outfit are on the hunt for a new boss after Neil Warnock stepped down in the wake of Monday's 2-1 defeat at home to Derby and McDermott is reportedly one of the leading candidates for the post, having been dismissed, harshly in the opinion of many, by Premier League strugglers Reading last month.

Scottish Rugby Union chief executive Mark Dodson says that a decision over the future of interim coach Scott Johnson will not be made in the near future. Johnson replaced Andy Robinson before this year's RBS Six Nations tournament and guided Scotland to victories against Italy and Ireland:
We are still talking to Scott and have been doing so pretty much since the Six Nations ended. We said we would sit down at the end of the tournament and talk about the next steps and we are still doing that. I wouldn't like to be too categorical about anything because Scott and I still have a lot to talk about.
