James Anderson has pronounced himself fit for England's final-Test decider against New Zealand at Eden Park. There were concerns in the rain-ruined Test at the Basin Reserve, where Anderson bowled the majority of his 37 overs into a fierce wind, that niggling discomfort in his heel and back were taking their toll but  England's senior fast bowler is ready for one last push in Auckland.
I feel okay. The rain probably helped in the end, getting an extra day off. It gave my body an extra bit of rest. So I hope, come Friday, my body will be ready to go five days again.

International cricket has long passed me by ... the decision you make to retire, when you do, is a very big one. I know I put a lot of time and thought into making the decision that I made for all the right reasons.
Hussey also ruled out any thoughts he might return to the Baggy Green and said:
I've moved on and I really don't want to be back in that pressure-cooker environment, particularly leading into the Ashes

[philclarke] After experimenting with the Margin Meter last season, Phil Clarke explains how the new 'performance gauge' can offer an insight into Super League action on Sky Sports.

Rugby league is a complex sport and I'm not trying to simplify it down to a few numbers. I realise, appreciate and understand the creativity and effort required to break through your opponents defence. I also know how important 'breaks' are in determining where in the league table a team will finish after 27 Rounds. In addition to 'metres made' and 'tackle success', they are a great guide to show us which team will finish in which places when we get to the end of the season.

Since the turn of the century, the biggest gap is the 18 points that Manchester United finished behind Arsenal's Invincibles in 2003/04.
