    Sunderland midfielder David Vaughan has been forced to pull out of Wales' World Cup qualifying clash with Scotland on Friday due to an unspecified injury.

    But there is better news regarding key player Gareth Bale, who should be fit for the Scotland game despite sitting out training on Wednesday with an ankle knock and illness.

    When I was 15 and Barcelona came to me. They explained how they wanted to develop me as a footballer. After a while they put me in the same group as the likes of Xavi and Iniesta who at that moment were on the up for Barcelona. That, for me, was a big compliment.

    Following his encouraging start to the season, in-form Tiger Woods says he wants to become a better player than he was when he dominated the world of golf.
    I don't want to become as good as I once was, I want to become better. We'll see. It's been a long process. I was hurt for a long time and at the same time had to make swing changes that were drastically different. I fell to 50 plus (in the rankings) for a while and to gradually work my back is something I am very proud of.
    Woods will regain the world No 1 spot if he takes a seventh career title at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill this week.

    I try not to look at the other competitors because then I'm not looking at the finish line. My job is to win bike races. Irrelevant of who is there, we have got to do our own thing and deliver.
