T20 Blast - May 16

Live coverage of the NatWest T20 blast - Notts v Lancashire

  • WICKET! [wicket] Croft b Patel 19
Croft tries to heave Patel into the Trent. Instead he sees leg stump disturbed. Lancashire letting it fall apart in this run chase. They need another 101 runs to win from the remaining 51 deliveries.

  • Over 12: Lancashire 84/4 (Horton 2, Clark 1)
Two fresh batsmen in and a run-rate that is rising faster than my blood pressure whilst keeping an eye on York City's play-off semi-final against Fleetwood.
    5/16/2014 7:43:24 PM
[betting]Another wicket falls with Lancs chasing 183, Lightning are out to 16/1 for a T20 Blast win at Trent Bridge. Check out the latest live odds on the Notts v Lancs.

  • Over 13: Lancashire 92/4 (Horton 5, Clark 4)
Wides and singles. The only time that combination of words should ever be uttered together is as the nightclub lights go up. Lancashire going nowhere really, apart from Buttler none of their players have looked capable of hitting boundaries on a regular basis. They need another 91 from here.
    5/16/2014 7:47:52 PM
  • WICKET! [wicket] Horton c Shahzad b Patel 5
The procession continues - Horton tries to use the reverse sweep but only ends up lapping a chance in the air to the fielder at point. I think, THINK, Samit Patel might be on to win man of the match here...

  • [nasserhussain] What an evening Samit Patel is having! He can do no wrong. The reverse-slog from Horton comes off the toe and goes straight up. Notts all over Lancashire like a rash.

    5/16/2014 7:50:24 PM
  • Over 14: Lancashire 99/5 (Clark 10, White 1)
Great spell from Samit Patel. He has picked up 2-25 from his four overs having earlier made a half-century with the bat. Nasser feels Lancashire look a batsman light in their line-up. Too much relying on the shoulders of Buttler.
    5/16/2014 7:51:28 PM
  • Over 15: Lancashire 112/5 (Clark 17, White 7)
White and Clark keep on swinging, the former getting four off Shahzad with a leg-side flick before the latter finishes the over with a six over mid-wicket that has the same trajectory as I wish from my pitching wedge on the golf course. Another 71 needed off 30.
    5/16/2014 7:56:09 PM
  • WICKET! [wicket] White c Wessels b Mullaney 7
The hits don't keep on coming for White, as he skies Mullaney out to deep mid-wicket. Was hitting to the long boundary and never quite had enough on it. Six down Lancashire and we're into their bowlers.
    5/16/2014 7:57:25 PM
  • Over 16: Lancashire 134/6 (Clark 39, Ali 0)
4-6-6-2-4 That was what Clark managed after the departure of White. He is gifted two full tosses from Mullaney for the sixes, then also clips away a leg-side half-volley to finish an expensive last over. Lancashire now need 49 from the last four. Could they? COULD THEY????

  • WICKET! [wicket] Ali c Hales b Gurney 5
Ali tries to take on the man at long-off but loses, hitting Gurney right down the throat of the waiting Hales. It's Clark and Clark only who can win this for Lancashire from here.
    5/16/2014 8:05:39 PM
  • Over 17: Lancashire 142/7 (Clark 40, Lilley 0)
Gurney showed just why England have picked him in limited-overs cricket, mixing up his over from around the wicket to keep the batsmen guessing. Were a number of slower deliveries and although he did give away a no ball, replays showed it was actually a poor decision by the umpire.
    5/16/2014 8:06:47 PM
  • WICKET! [wicket] Lilley b Carter 0
Carter cleans up Lilley with a beauty, a yorker arrowing in to the base of leg stump and knocking it clean out of the ground. Bowler enjoyed that one!
    5/16/2014 8:07:58 PM
  • Jordan Clarke looks like a serious talent.... #TheBlast
  • WICKETS! Two in the over for Carter and Notts are on the brink of a winning start to the @NatWestT20Blast . Lancs 148-9 #t20
  • WICKET! [wicket] Clark b Carter 44
Not quite so spectacularly this time, but Carter is just as happy as the dangerous Clark misses a swing to leg and is bowled for a valiant 44 that included three sixes and four fours. The fat lady is quickly warming up...
    5/16/2014 8:12:44 PM
  • Over 18: Lancashire 148/9 (Parry 1, Anderson 0)
Red Rose county need 35 off the last two overs with their last pair at the crease.
    5/16/2014 8:13:21 PM
  • WICKET! [wicket] Anderson b Gurney 0
Great way to finish! Anderson backs away and allows Gurney the chance to knock a stump out of the ground. The Outlaws open their campaign with a 33-run win over the Lightning at Trent Bridge.
    5/16/2014 8:15:20 PM
  • Samit Patel's runs and wickets proved the difference for Notts

    5/16/2014 8:17:37 PM
  • Great Evening of @NatWestT20Blast on @SkyCricket , have to get down to Hove and watch @SussexCCC
  • NOTTS TIE IT UP [quotes]
Steve Mullaney admits he came close to letting Lancashire back in with his final over proving particularly expensive...
It was my fault it got a bit nervy. I let a four through off Samit and then went for 22 (in an over), but two points is two points and we will take that to start the tournament. It's good to test yourself against the world's best (Buttler), so it was good to get him out.

  • VIDEO: With all the superstars on show tonight, it was Andy Carter who impressed @BumbleCricket at Trent Bridge:… #t20
  • Bumble reserves praise for Andy Carter as Notts see off Lancashire by 33 runs
