  • The Vossen to 'Boro thing keeps coming back, got to be nonsense though. We haven't got 2 beans to rub together and his fee is rumoured to be €4 - 8m. Maybe we could ask Genk to deposit him in a local Ramsdens and we could pawn him on the cheap.

  • That would be a coup for Arsenal.... £12m for a 3rd choice 29year old for and a decent young prospect

    7/15/2014 1:02:17 PM
  • Wow, that is quite a coup actually. There has supposedly been quite the fuss made about those two lads. I don't suppose it means a definite signing at this point but encouraging.

  • random observation. seems that no one's going for scandinavian players these days (in the epl at least). Should those nations be soul-searching now having not qualified for the WC and having players discarded from relegated teams and villa..

  • Manchester United have taken highly-rated Benfica starlets Joao Filipe and Joao Virginia on trial, Sky Sports understands.

Sky Sports revealed earlier this month that a host of Premier League clubs, including United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea were all chasing Filipe and Virginia.

Winger Filipe, who has been labelled the "the next Cristiano Ronaldo", and goalkeeper Virginia are regarded as two of the best young talents to emerge in Portugal in recent years.

Barcelona have already seen one offer rejected for Felipe with Benfica desperately trying to tie down the two teenagers to long-term deals to secure their futures.

However, United appear to have stolen a march on their rivals by coming to an agreement with Benfica to take Filipe and Virginia on trial so that they can cast an eye over the pair at close quarters.

If the duo impress during their stint at Carrington they could be offered deals to move to Old Trafford on a permanent basis.

  • The football in Scandinavian nations isn't great at present. I've been involved in 2 matches vs Norwegian Tippeliagen (their Premier League) teams and it has to be said their standard isn't great, probably League 1/lower Championship. Quite a lot of UK non league players end up in Sweden and Iceland in the higher divisions too. No idea on the level of Danish football.

  • In the spirit of 'mutual love and obsession with the world's one true love. Footyball.' I'd like to say hello to Mick and Keith. Also, I can't believe Valbuena's off to Moscow. For the love of me, someone give him a deal.
    7/15/2014 1:05:54 PM
  • The Express are going big on news that United may opt for Kevin Strootman as an alternative to Arturo Vidal. Know which we would prefer.
    7/15/2014 1:07:43 PM
  • Did anyone else just read Ian Moore's comment and think "Maybe I should go to Norway, I'd get a game"?
    7/15/2014 1:07:54 PM
  • Stefan de Vrij, you like?
    7/15/2014 1:09:34 PM
  • Well Feyenoord sporting director thinks he might be off.

"Stefan is a player who came through our youth academy and played in the first team for five years. He played an amazing World Cup and his contract is due to expire in one year. If the right club comes along and puts in a good offer, we will definitely look at it."
    7/15/2014 1:10:32 PM
  • Vidal now, Stroots in January?
    7/15/2014 1:10:51 PM
  • Just keep them rumours coming F365!
    7/15/2014 1:13:16 PM
  • Metro but "Liverpool have been given a boost in the hunt for Mario Balotelli after AC Milan reportedly splashed his asking to just £14million."
    7/15/2014 1:13:24 PM
  • The Daily Express are busy bees this afternoon:

'Galatasaray keen to sell Wesley Sneijder to beat Liverpool and Arsenal to Mario Balotelli'
    7/15/2014 1:14:24 PM
  • Whadya think of that one?
    7/15/2014 1:14:31 PM
  • Roma wont sell strootman, they're chairman is very very keen on kepping him and pjanic to build for a serie a winning (and maybe champions league testing) team..
    7/15/2014 1:14:52 PM
  • Remember when Paul Lambert was being hailed as the next great manager? The awfulness of Richardson, Senderos and a broken Joe Cole is only tempered by the fact that they are less expensive than last summers guff. Better the s**t you know than the random s**t your scout offer up.
    7/15/2014 1:14:53 PM
  • Living in the land of Swedes I have seen a fair bit of fotboll. I think the best player I've seen here is a young lad called Josh Adomako who is a fine CB but after climbing to the third tier seems to have been dropped. Can this blog resurrect his career?...
    7/15/2014 1:18:56 PM
  • Shall we? Rather than a rumour, we could all claim that he's great?
    7/15/2014 1:19:23 PM
  • Is he on twitter?
    7/15/2014 1:19:28 PM
  • Is it just me or has the transfer market, certainly in the PL, stalled a little since the World Cup finished properly? It seemed like there were more deals going on while it was still in progress.
    7/15/2014 1:19:33 PM
  • I feel sorry for Paul Lambert. With those players they may have Adam Lambert managing them because it wont make a difference.
    7/15/2014 1:19:37 PM
  • Wayne Veysey from Goal.com has tweeted the following. Make of it what you will: ''Arsenal are closing in on 3 new signings. News to come......''
    7/15/2014 1:19:46 PM
  • Yeah, we've learnt to be suspicious of such promises
    7/15/2014 1:20:00 PM
  • Arsenal transfer news courtesy of Sky Sports: 'A host of clubs are showing an interest in former Arsenal, West Brom and Hull City star Jay Simpson, who has returned to Britain following a spell in Thailand.'
    7/15/2014 1:21:10 PM
  • 7/15/2014 1:21:17 PM
  • Aaaand that news was followed up by Goalclaiming that a deal has been agreed and Ospina is set to join the Gunners for 3m, talks with Manquillo have reached the 'advanced' stage and the Debuchy arrival is said to be 'imminent'. Bugger. Anything for clicks I guess.
    7/15/2014 1:22:28 PM
  • Roma and Utd to enter a swap deal - Strootman for Ashley Young + cash. You heard it here first.
    7/15/2014 1:22:37 PM
  • "Sky Sports understands" Awooooga! tick that one off the list.

  • I have another addition to the bingo card. The classic Journalist on twitter, "Big news on the way #bigclubname". Then silence follows.
    7/15/2014 1:26:03 PM
  • Why was that arsenal transfer news?
    7/15/2014 1:26:18 PM
  • Played for 'em
    7/15/2014 1:26:28 PM
  • Charlton Athletic have confirmed on their club website the signing of Romanian striker George Tucudean from Standard Liege.
    7/15/2014 1:27:16 PM
  • I still believe Evra is key to the whole Vidal deal. The delay there is intriguing to say the least.
