    7/22/2014 7:29:02 AM
  • We'll kick off with the Daily Star's story that Man City are eyeing a move for Didier Drogba after Alvaro Negredo was ruled out with a broken foot.

'Former Chelsea star Drogba is considering a return to Stamford Bridge after leaving Galatasaray at the end of last season,' report the Star.

'He is understood to have a number of options on the table and will make a decision on his future this week. But Pellegrini believes the 36-year-old could be a viable option on a 12-month contract to improve his striking options now Negredo is sidelined.'
    7/22/2014 7:30:57 AM
  • It was reported yesterday that Man United are closing in on a £16m move for Mats Hummels, but Jurgen Klopp has rubbished talk of the defender leaving Borussia Dortmund. "You know it's all garbage," he said.
    7/22/2014 7:32:46 AM
  • Meanwhile, Portuguese midfielder Tiago has signed a new two-year deal at Atletico Madrid after his move to Chelsea broke down. Did Jose use him just to get Filipe Luis and Diego Costa?
    7/22/2014 7:33:38 AM
  • Sky Sports News inform us that Steven Caulker is undergoing a medical at QPR. Good signing, that.
    7/22/2014 7:35:58 AM
  • The Metro claim Man United are plotting a £27m swoop for Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado. We can't see that happening to be honest.
    7/22/2014 7:38:28 AM
  • 'Drogba to Man City' may be the most made up rumour of the window so far. Oh, and morning all
    7/22/2014 7:44:18 AM

    7/22/2014 7:44:23 AM

    7/22/2014 7:44:29 AM
  • Southampton boss Ronald Koeman says the club have received no more bids for Dejan Lovren, despite reports that Liverpool are close to signing the defender.

“We have had no bid from Liverpool for Lovren, that is the situation," Koeman told Sky Sports.

“If that does not change, he will continue to play at Southampton. We know there is a lot of interest in our players, I think that is normal. But we have to wait, we work on the team.”
    7/22/2014 7:46:30 AM
  • are no Liverpool fans out there hoping that our (possibly non-existent) marquee comes in the form of a box-to-box? I've heard no real talk of it but Stevie won't last a full season with cups and Joe Allen is utterly unworthy. Can won't step up this season?
    7/22/2014 7:46:39 AM
  • Morning Blog we missed you! Steven Caulker is a great signing for QPR surprised none of the bigger teams came after him.
    7/22/2014 7:53:30 AM

    7/22/2014 7:53:51 AM
  • Good morning Concrete Ron Burgundy.
    7/22/2014 7:54:00 AM
  • Jordan Henderson is the 'box-to-box' in our setup, and he does a good job.
    7/22/2014 7:54:09 AM
  • Speaking of Hendo, here he is on Liverpool's summer transfer business:

“There’s been some great signings and there’s talk of a few more. And in the first day’s training today everyone looks sharp. Like I say – there’s some quality signings come in,” Henderson told Sky Sports News.

“Hopefully we can keep going from last season, keep going with the confidence."
    7/22/2014 7:55:42 AM
  • Oh, this one's good. Leicester are apparently trying to sign former Chelsea man Florent Malouda. We'd like to see that.
    7/22/2014 7:56:35 AM
  • Napoli are chasing Man City midfielder Javi Garcia, who's found himself on the transfer list after two underwhelming years in England.
    7/22/2014 7:57:30 AM
  • Its obvious that Klopp is goin to deny hummels is going, all big clubs deny top players are leaving until its all signed and confirmed
    7/22/2014 7:57:35 AM
  • Where is big Flo these days?
    7/22/2014 7:57:38 AM
  • Trabzonspor.
    7/22/2014 7:57:43 AM
  • Garcia's future could play a crucial role in City completing the signing of Eliaquim Mangala. The Porto centre-back's £32m switch is apparently being held up by City looking to shift a couple of foreign players in advance.
    7/22/2014 8:04:54 AM
  • Wonder if Man City did a little dance of joy when they heard the news that someone might be interested in one of their failed signings?
    7/22/2014 8:05:19 AM
  • I see Remy is still en route to America for his medical. Did he take a hot air balloon ?
    7/22/2014 8:05:36 AM

    7/22/2014 8:05:45 AM

    7/22/2014 8:06:26 AM

    7/22/2014 8:07:18 AM

Can this be quote of the day or something in Mediawatch?
    7/22/2014 8:07:31 AM
  • Do City really need another striker? You would think they would be well set with Aguero, Jovetic, Dzeko and Guidetti. Its not like Negredo was setting the world on fire in the second half of last season.
    7/22/2014 8:07:46 AM
  • It depends how fit Aguero and Jovetic are. Aye, no goals for Negredo in his last 16 games - royally cocked up his World Cup hopes.
    7/22/2014 8:08:23 AM
  • The Daily Mail claim Mario Balotelli's £5m-a-year wage demands could scupper Arsenal's move for the striker. Of course, Arsene Wenger has already said he's not interested in signing another forward.
    7/22/2014 8:13:22 AM
  • How many players have Blackpool got now?
    7/22/2014 8:13:29 AM
  • Let's check...
    7/22/2014 8:13:57 AM
  • 7/22/2014 8:14:17 AM
  • Wenger's never buying Balotelli.
    7/22/2014 8:14:19 AM
  • Southampton are set to duke it out with Deportivo La Coruna for River Plate's £7m-rated striker Teofilo Gutierrez. The 29-year-old impressed for Colombia at the World Cup.
    7/22/2014 8:18:02 AM
  • The Mirror claim Arsene Wenger wants either Phil Jones or Chris Smalling in exchange for Thomas Vermaelen.
    7/22/2014 8:25:41 AM
  • Apparently he also asked about Tom Cleverley earlier in the summer.
    7/22/2014 8:26:05 AM
  • Phil Jones, Chris Smalling & Tom Cleverley. I can't see it, myself.
    7/22/2014 8:34:42 AM
  • Why oh why would Wenger swop Vermaelen for a lesser player? Get big Ronnie Vlaar in!
