The F365 Transfer Blog - Tuesday July 22

  • Out of the options given Liverpool's most likely 'marquee' signing would be Reus I think. Mainly because he plays for Dortmund & not Juventus. £34 mil for Vidal though is a quality price if they match that then who knows? Agree though, no chance of Pogba. He'll probably be a Barcelona player within the next 2 years
    7/22/2014 11:39:54 AM
  • They've already ruined Lamela for ladies, they can't be having Greizmann.
    7/22/2014 11:40:10 AM
  • David Healey has signed for Glenavon on a 1 match contract
    7/22/2014 11:40:14 AM
  • Has he actually signed for Glenavon? I am pretty close to their stadium at the minute.
    7/22/2014 11:41:09 AM
  • It might not even hurt Villa all that much to go down this year, they seem to have decent youth players coming through(Grealish, Robinson) and players like Baker and Clark could benefit from a season of Championship football, they could purge all their overpaid players like Newcastle did and focus on youth..Like i was expecting Fulham to do until they spent 11m on Ross McCormick(still dont think we're talking enough of how silly that deal is)
    7/22/2014 11:41:11 AM
  • Marco Reus is far too sensible to be going to Liverpool.
    7/22/2014 11:41:38 AM
  • Jose Campana's switch from Palace to Sampdoria is done. His spell in England was enjoyable.
    7/22/2014 11:42:14 AM
  • You see, the things which has made the Reus to Liverpool move seem likely have been the Vidal to Liverpool move and the Pogba to Liverpool move. Crowding an unlikely thing with things which are even less likely tends to make them look likely, but not actually be any more likely.
    7/22/2014 11:42:34 AM
  • Pogba will cost around a billion pounds when he does move. Whoever buys him will overpay by a lot (PSG not Liverpool)
    7/22/2014 11:44:31 AM
  • Ooh this might be nonsense but it makes a lot of sense. Atletico have made an enquiry regarding Chicharito.
    7/22/2014 11:44:37 AM
  • That Mirror article has done terrible things to Liverpool fans. Forget about signing Reus, Vidal or Pogba. There a ten maybe 15 clubs that they will eventually sign for in the next few years and Liverpool is not one of them.
    7/22/2014 11:44:42 AM
  • I like seeing villa fans suffer, so I'd rather see them struggle in the prem than win the champ
    7/22/2014 11:44:45 AM
  • An attacking midfield trio of Lamela, Griezmann & Eriksen (with new and improved hair transplant) - phwoooaarrrrr.
    7/22/2014 11:44:57 AM
  • Big season for Eriksen.
    7/22/2014 11:45:48 AM
  • Jaime Jackson has referred to LVG as The Iron Tulip, please tell me this is actually his nickname
    7/22/2014 11:47:05 AM
  • It is indeed
    7/22/2014 11:47:09 AM
  • Poor Lewis Holtby.
    7/22/2014 11:47:18 AM
  • On his way to Palace?
    7/22/2014 11:47:24 AM
  • The Iron Tulip? That is surely made up
    7/22/2014 11:49:07 AM
  • Nope.
    7/22/2014 11:49:11 AM
  • Well yes, it's a nickname so it is made up
    7/22/2014 11:49:24 AM
  • Is Remy's move done?
    7/22/2014 11:49:26 AM
  • Almost. We're ready to go capitals for it
    7/22/2014 11:49:35 AM
  • Holtby's going to slowly step away from football to concentrate on his career for Spurs TV.
    7/22/2014 11:49:39 AM
  • Holtby....could've been in the CL next season had he just kept his head down in Schalke.
    7/22/2014 11:49:41 AM
  • Well its the creepiest nickname in football in my opinion, I shudder just reading it
    7/22/2014 11:50:09 AM
  • With all the rumours regarding us signing all these big names, I'd like to categorically state that if we don't end up with 2/3 of Vidal, Blind and Hummels then I will join John Nicholson in beating Woodward back into the bush.
    7/22/2014 11:50:18 AM
  • Ben Foster has signed a new four-year deal at West Brom. It's about the only good news for them this summer.
    7/22/2014 11:51:14 AM
  • Edinson Cavani has been taking all sorts of jazz:

"Premier League or the Bundesliga? I love both." Cavani told Le10Sport. "But I'm not the type to change leagues constantly. Germany, Spain, Italy and England are the best leagues. But Ligue 1 is also progressing.

"Football is a sport where trust is everything. When a club wants you, he calls you, he wants you to integrate a project, he tries to get involved.

"In those moments, you feel confident. I'm not worried about what we can say about my work. Palermo, Naples and PSG gave me confidence."

Way to make them all sound a bit stop-gappy eh.
    7/22/2014 11:51:26 AM
  • According to my mystery Spanish source (Rafa Hernandez), Xavi has decided to stay at Barca for one more year.
    7/22/2014 11:52:38 AM
  • The Daily Express are suggesting that Everton are poised to beat Arsenal and Manchester United to highly rated Anderlecht striker David Henen. something about 'the new Ronaldo', although there seem to be quite a lot of of players tipped to be the new Ronaldo, Messi or Bale...
    7/22/2014 11:52:42 AM
  • The new Ronaldo bit made us laugh. At least be the same nationality.
    7/22/2014 11:53:01 AM
  • Is there a nickname in football that sounds *less* like a carnal position?
    7/22/2014 11:53:03 AM
  • Yes. Loads. Wazza for example. Do you mean *more*
    7/22/2014 11:53:23 AM
  • I imagine Cavani smoking a pipe and wearing spectacles and constantly placing his hair behind his ear when making that statement.
    7/22/2014 11:53:29 AM
  • Was worried at the end of last season but I'm confident we'll be safe this season. Too many teams worse than us
    7/22/2014 11:54:33 AM
  • Any managers?
    7/22/2014 11:54:41 AM
  • Of course I meant that... thanks for not correcting!
    7/22/2014 11:54:45 AM
  • Holtby will make it in MP's midfield. Good engine, presses well, good range of passing. There will be 3 CM spots available and Spurs only have 37 central midfielders.
    7/22/2014 11:54:59 AM
  • We disagree. Think he might be off.
    7/22/2014 11:55:10 AM
  • Great lunch break I now adore Antonio Di Natale as well!
    7/22/2014 11:55:22 AM
  • He's quite the man.
    7/22/2014 11:55:33 AM
  • The least Liverpool can do after picking Southampton dry is loan them out Ilori, Kelly, Suso, and Borini. Would benefit all parties involved
    7/22/2014 11:55:42 AM
  • @F365 Where is Nick Powell heading this summer on loan?
    7/22/2014 11:55:44 AM
  • Hmmm, Burnley?
