It is a decision we have taken reluctantly. But it’s a decision made in the best interests of Swansea City Football Club and our supporters. It is the first time in nearly 10 years that the club has parted with a manager in this way, but we had to remove the constant uncertainty surrounding the club and Michael’s long-term future with us.

  • OH WHAT A NIGHT!! [recommend]
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons sang that line better than I ever would, but it's been some evening on and off the pitch. We've seen Michael Laudrup sacked by Swansea, Sheffield United dump Fulham out of the FA Cup and plenty of goals across the other competitions in action.

We'll be back with more on Wednesday - look out for Sky Sports Today in the morning and then more football blogging in the evening when Preston face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, Atletico and Real meet in a Copa del Rey derby (live on Sky Sports 2), Barcelona face Real Sociedad (live on Sky Sports 2), Roma and Napoli clash in the Coppa Italia (live on Sky Sports 3) and Peterborough host Swindon in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy (live on Sky Sports 1).
