  • Sky Bet's Dale Tempest on the Champions League draw
Chelsea were 5/1 before the draw was made so the fact that they’ve been trimmed slightly suggests they’ve got a favourable draw. But there was never going to be an easy route to the final and Atletico are the slight favourites at 4/5, with Chelsea given odds of 10/11 to get through to the last two.
Chelsea are now 4/1 to win the Champions League with Sky Bet. Bet here.

  • [sunderland]Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher is unlikely to play again this season because of his ankle injury. The 27-year-old Scotland international, who has missed the last four games, will sit out against Everton at the Stadium of Light on Saturday and is likely to play no further part in the club's fight for Premier League survival. Manager Gus Poyet is otherwise remaining coy over a series of minor knocks, but goalkeeper Keiren Westwood is still sidelined by a shoulder problem.

The 32-year-old had to have five stitches in an eye wound early in last weekend's victory over Arsenal and as of Thursday, his left eye had not fully reopened. 4/11/2014 4:26:11 PM

The Black Cats entertain an in-form Everton side on Saturday but Poyet insists his men have been lifted by the good form they have shown in domestic cup competitions this season. Sunderland finished runners-up to Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final and also reached the quarter-final stage of the FA Cup where they lost out to Hull.

    4/11/2014 4:36:51 PM

Haigh had been expected to take up the position of CEO of the club but has resigned after indicating his position at the club is no longer tenable.

    4/11/2014 4:46:01 PM
Owing to various statements made by and on behalf of the new majority owners of Leeds United FC, I am left with no alternative than to resign as managing director of the club.
