  • And here's what happened in League Two today

    4/12/2014 4:11:40 PM
Scunthorpe sit on top of League Two tonight after Rochdale crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Mansfield. Their lead is just a single point however after Danny Rose snatched a 2-2 draw for Bury at Glanford Park. Torquay refuse to throw in the towel at the other end. They won 2-1 at Bristol Rovers but remain six  points adrift at the bottom.
    4/12/2014 4:13:19 PM
The Gunners are looking lively so far and Oxlade-Chamberlain miscontrols in the box to end a promising move before Ramsey is caught offside.[arsenal]

    4/12/2014 4:13:22 PM
  • Here's how the bottom of the Premier League table looks after all of that. Norwich, whose final four games are against Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal look to be in deep trouble after losing to Fulham. Aston Villa and Swansea are now looking VERY nervously over their shoulders after wins for Cardiff and Fulham. Sunderland appear doomed despite their games in hand.

    4/12/2014 4:14:22 PM
  • The main news at the top of the table is that Everton move above Arsenal into fourth place with five games left to play - although on paper their fixtures look tougher.

    4/12/2014 4:15:00 PM
[save]Fantastic stop! Carson does brilliantly to get down and block Sanogo's header after the forward had met Oxlade-Chamberlain's cross.
    4/12/2014 4:15:32 PM

Wigan have settled into this game now and they will be pleased to have made it through the first 10 minutes without conceding.[wigan]
    4/12/2014 4:22:06 PM
More good goalkeeping from Carson, who charges off his line and manages to put the ball out for a corner as Oxlade-Chamberlain tries to get on the end of a good Ramsey pass.
    4/12/2014 4:24:22 PM
Carson's early save from Sanogo is the main incident we've seen at Wembley so far.
    4/12/2014 4:24:59 PM
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has just won his first away game as Cardiff boss and shared his relief with Sky Sports:
We did earn it and deserve it in the end. We have one of the best keepers in the league and he did his job. The back four did their job and in front of them the six ran until they had cramp, most of them. A fantastic effort.

    4/12/2014 4:27:23 PM
McManaman tries some fancy footwork on the by-line but can't quite keep the ball in play. Promising signs though, from the FA Cup holders, as we pass the 20-minute mark.
    4/12/2014 4:29:43 PM
New Norwich boss Neil Adams says he's happy with how his team played at Fulham, despite their defeat at Craven Cottage
It was a game we probably deserved to win. Felix will probably disagree. We were delighted with the play, the effort, the attitude. We got it tactically right. we were dominating the game and it's just about taking chances.

    4/12/2014 4:30:11 PM
Fulham boss Felix Magath has told Sky Sports that his side were "lucky" to get the three points today. [fulham]
I feel lucky, not only in half-time but after the game. Today we are lucky. Norwich are the better team and had some chances, but our goalkeeper was very great today.

    4/12/2014 4:32:05 PM
  • WEST BROM 3-3 SPURS REACTION [tottenham]
Christian Eriksen, who scored a last-gasp leveller, praised his team mates as they battled back from 3-0 down
    4/12/2014 4:35:26 PM
Good chance! Vermaelen heads on Cazorla's corner and Sagna is all alone at the back post but the angle is tight and his shot flies wide of the target.
    4/12/2014 4:36:50 PM
Gus Poyet has just spoken to Sky Sports and is struggling to accept his side's defeat, which came via a Wes Brown own goal.
That's the story of the season. Something always happens against you. It could be an own goal, a referee's decision, a deflected shot... when you are at the top they go for you and when you are at the bottom it doesn't and it hurts. It hurts a lot.

    4/12/2014 4:39:59 PM
Great play from McManaman, who is tormenting the Arsenal defence. First he has a low cross hacked away by Mertesacker after surging into the box and Sagna then does well to head another McManaman cross clear at the back post.
    4/12/2014 4:40:37 PM
  • STOKE 1-0 NEWCASTLE REACTION [newcastle]
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew says injuries are to blame for his side's poor run of form
    4/12/2014 4:42:48 PM
Oxlade-Chamberlain is looking in the mood and he powers into the box after a little one-two but Perch gets a foot in and the ball falls to Sanogo, who puts a tricky half-volley from the edge of the box high and wide.
    4/12/2014 4:44:30 PM
Jeff Stelling has just had a look at the game on his monitor and is stunned to see the attendance.
Wembley Stadium, I have to say, is nowhere near full. That's really, really disappointing. Lots of empty spaces there. [jeffstelling]

    4/12/2014 4:46:54 PM
Wigan having a decent spell and a McManaman cross-shot flies over the top before Fortune's thumping effort is comfortably saved by Fabianski at his near post.

The Gunners win a free-kick in quite a promising position 30 yards out but, while Podolski clears the defensive wall, his shot is always drifting wide of the post.
    4/12/2014 4:49:47 PM
[save]Well done Carson again! Sanogo uses his pace to latch on to Podolski's pass but his first touch is a little heavy and the Wigan keeper comes out to narrow the angles and block the shot.
    4/12/2014 4:51:53 PM
[half-time]Half-time at Wembley and no goals yet after quite a cagey 45 minutes. Arsenal have had the better chances but Scott Carson has been on his game in the Wigan goal and the Latics have had their moments too. They will definitely be sensing another big Cup win and the second-half could get very interesting!
    4/12/2014 4:55:07 PM
96 seats have been left empty at Wembley today, with Liverpool scarves draped across them in memory of those supporters who died at an FA Cup semi-final 25 years ago.

    4/12/2014 5:10:48 PM
Arsenal are seeing plenty of ball in the early exchanges but the majority of it has been inside their own half. Wigan's midfield is sitting deep, inviting their opponents forward in the hope of launching a quick counter.
    4/12/2014 5:15:21 PM
  • C PALACE 1-0 ASTON VILLA REACTION [astonvilla]
Villa boss Paul Lambert reflects on what he felt was an even game at Villa Park.
I thought it was a really tight even game. There wasn't many chances at both ends. We had one or two little chances to score. Crystal Palace took their chance that came their way and their goalkeeper made a great save from Andi [Weimann]. These sorts of things are going against us at the minute, but you keep going.

    4/12/2014 5:17:24 PM
  • WIGAN 0-0 ARSENAL [arsenal]

  • [goal]GOAL! WIGAN 1-0 ARSENAL (Gomez pen)
Great penalty from Gomez after such a lengthy wait - Monreal eventually had to be replaced by Gibbs. Fabianski guesses correctly but he is unable to stop the Spaniard's accurate effort. Uwe Rosler couldn't bare to watch the penalty but he needn't have worried. Wigan lead at Wembley!

  • KOMPANY FITNESS DOUBT? [manchestercity]
Vincent Kompany has given Manchester City a fitness scare on the eve of their crucial trip to title-rivals Liverpool. Pictures emerged on Saturday of the City captain appearing to limp out of a training session and he was seen holding his knee and being helped from the field by team-mates after landing awkwardly following an aerial challenge. City have confirmed that Kompany did not finish the session but that is not necessarily unusual after a knock, and the 28-year-old stayed off as a precautionary measure. He has since rejoined the squad and travelled as normal.
