  • [sundaysupplement] It is the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster next month and the Football Association has announced plans to delay kick-off times for all games between April 11-14 in the FA Cup, Premier League, Football League and Conference. Dunn believes it is a ‘dignified mark of respect’, and Barclay, who was at Hillsborough when 96 people lost their lives on 15 April 1989, agrees that the right tone has been struck.

  • [sundaysupplement] The Daily Telegraph reported this week that Jack Warner, the former FIFA vice-president, and his family were paid almost $2million (£1.2million) from a Qatari firm linked to the country's successful bid for the 2022 World Cup. Hayward says there is still time to challenge the decision to give Qatar the tournament, but Barclay doubts anything will be done.
    3/23/2014 10:09:41 AM
  • [liverpool] Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick as Liverpool came from behind to beat Cardiff City 6-3 yesterday to stay in the hunt for the title, and Barclay believes he is the greatest striker in the club’s history.  There are a host of legends who have won numerous more trophies at Anfield, but Barclay’s opinion is that Suarez has the edge.
Because of his greater speed and mobility, Suarez would even be ahead of Dalglish.

    3/23/2014 10:19:20 AM
  • [liverpool] Hayward agrees that Luis Suarez is one of the few players who can astonish you by producing things that have never been seen before, describing him as ‘unplayable’ at times. Liverpool’s success is the ‘story of the season’, according to Hayward, and he says the owner must take this chance to support Brendan Rodgers and help him build an even stronger team.
    3/23/2014 10:22:20 AM
  • [sundaysupplement] Barclay believes the greater experience of Chelsea and Manchester City could be crucial in the title race, but says Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has ‘exceptional’ qualities and thinks it is still too difficult to call who will come out on top and become champions.
    3/23/2014 10:25:09 AM
  • [liverpool] Luis Suarez expresses his delight after netting his third hat-trick of the season during Liverpool's 6-3 win over Cardiff.

  • SPURS 2-2 SOUTHAMPTON
Now Lovren's down in the box after colliding with team-mate Cork. This has more than a hint of Saints' 2-2 draw at Sunderland about it: 2-0 up; 2-1 at the break; 2-2 in the second half; Lovren injured...although it looks like Lovren will carry on here, at least
    3/23/2014 2:39:34 PM
  • SPURS 2-2 SOUTHAMPTON
Saints' passing lacking the composure of that dreamy opening half hour, which seems some way away now as Spurs apply the pressure. Soldado's looking very sharp for the home side, despite a lack of shooting opportunity so far
    3/23/2014 2:43:09 PM
  • SPURS 2-2 SOUTHAMPTON
Here is a shooting chance for Chadli, but the angle is getting worse by the second and in the end his effort is off target. Boruc helps it behind for a corner, nonetheless, but Spurs make little of it

  • SPURS 2-2 SOUTHAMPTON

    3/23/2014 2:54:37 PM
  • SPURS 2-2 SOUTHAMPTON
Chadli belts a cross against Shaw - standing a yard away - and sticks his arm up looking for a penalty only to concede a free-kick as the ball rebounds against him. Suitably sheepish, he trots back into position

  • 3/23/2014 2:57:28 PM
  • SPURS 2-2 SOUTHAMPTON CHANCE![tottenham]
Eriksen is carrying a real threat from Spurs' left, and he makes another bolt for the middle as Kaboul spots the run and delivers his best quarterback ball. Eriksen's first touch isn't the worst, but his second sends a volley into an orbit last occupied by a Chris Waddle penalty-kick...
