  • [fl72]Our live action gets underway on Friday night as League One promotion hopefuls Brentford play host to Gillingham at Griffin Park (live on Sky Sports 1HD from 7.30pm). The Bees lie just a point behind Leyton Orient at the top of the table and are currently on a 15-game unbeaten run in the league, taking 41 points from a possible 45. The Gills, who are 14th, have won two of their last three matches so we could be in for an exciting encounter in west London. Also on Friday, Arsenal host Coventry and Nottingham Forest entertain Preston (8pm) in the FA Cup.

  • [cardiff]We'll be hearing from Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and defender Kevin McNaughton shortly. The Bluebirds, who are propping up the Premier League following their 4-2 defeat at Manchester City last Saturday, head to Bolton in the FA Cup fourth round looking for another away-day success after knocking out Newcastle at the start of the month.

    1/24/2014 9:18:12 AM
  • [soccersaturday]That Bolton v Cardiff clash is one of 12 FA Cup fourth-round fixtures taking place on Saturday afternoon, when Jeff Stelling will be back with Soccer Saturday from 12pm on Sky Sports 1HD. Liverpool's trip to Bournemouth is the lunchtime game, while the 3pm kick-offs include Manchester City v Watford and Sunderland v Kidderminster Harriers. There's an evening encounter too as Stevenage play host to Everton at 5.30pm. In the Sky Bet Championship, leaders Leicester City are in action at home to Middlesbrough, while fourth-placed Derby go to Blackburn, managerless Blackpool meet Doncaster and Ipswich take on Reading. In addition, there's six League One fixtures, 11 in League Two and north of the border, Motherwell v Aberdeen is the pick of the four Scottish Premiership games.

  • [scottishfootball]On Sunday, you can watch Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic live on Sky Sports 1HD from 12.30pm as they travel to Edinburgh to meet Terry Butcher's Hibernian. The Hoops have a 13-point advantage at the top of the table and also have two games in hand over second-placed Aberdeen, while Hibs lie seventh. We also have a League Two game for you on Monday night when Scunthorpe meet Fleetwood at Glanford Park.
    1/24/2014 9:38:27 AM
  • [cardiff]As promised, here's Cardiff defender Kevin McNaughton talking to the media ahead of the Welsh club's FA Cup trip to Bolton. The 31-year-old Scotland international was on loan with Wanderers earlier in the season.

    1/24/2014 9:41:55 AM
  • [cardiff]Kevin McNaughton says new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given him a new lease of life at the Cardiff City Stadium.

  • Hibernian defenders Paul Hanlon (thigh) and Ryan McGivern (hamstring) will both miss the visit of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic (12.45pm) on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1HD. Midfielder Scott Robertson is suspended for the lunchtime encounter but Daniel Handling has overcome a heel injury. Manager Terry Butcher revealed this week that Kevin Thomson and Tim Clancy, who have been unable to work their way into his plans, were also missing through injury. [scottishfootball]

    1/24/2014 6:25:27 PM
We're off and under way for the second-half...
    1/25/2014 1:50:12 PM
Liverpool begin the second-half with some extended possession, albeit possession that's not going anywhere. Bournemouth keep their shape and wait their turn
    1/25/2014 1:53:00 PM
Bournemouth's turn duly arrives and the crowd raise the volume. A promising attack ends after a clash of heads in the box. Surman gets some treatment after colliding with Skrtel, who remains down. Looks like he's getting some stitches to a cut on the top of his head.
    1/25/2014 1:57:32 PM
Grabban galavants down the left, twists and turns before crossing and Bournemouth have a corner, but it comes to nothing.
    1/25/2014 2:00:38 PM
Gerrard is booked for some angry backchat directed to both linesman and referee. Bournemouth want a penalty for a pull of the shirt in the box, but it's not seen. Either way, it's heating up here.

  • GOAL! BOURNEMOUTH 0-2 LIVERPOOL (Sturridge 60) [goal]
Cool finish into the corner from Sturridge after he breaks the offside trap from Suarez's through ball

    1/25/2014 2:10:44 PM
This time Ritchie does find Grabban in the channel, but his first-time shot is wide at the near post. He needed to flash that across the face of goal.

  • [liverpool]
    1/25/2014 2:10:59 PM
Fair to say Liverpool's second has knocked the stuffing out of the home side and the visitors nearly have a third. Gerrard finds Sturridge with a raking long ball and the England striker's first-time lobbed effort beats Camp and drops onto the top of the bar.
    1/25/2014 2:17:05 PM
  • BOURNEMOUTH 0-2 LIVERPOOL [substitution]
Two changes for Bournemouth as Pugh and Ritchie make way for Rantie and Fraser

Sturridge lashes well over having danced down the right and cut into the box. Plenty of white shirts waiting for the pass, but Roy Hodgson's smiling. He seems happy with the England man's performance today
    1/25/2014 2:19:54 PM
Sturridge releases Suarez, who has only Camp to beat, but his lob is too strong and drifts over the bar

Grabban's instinctive shot forces Jones into a smart save. The ball was swerving and the keeper did well to adjust. I don't think anyone would begrudge Bournemouth a late consolation here. They've battled really hard, been the better team for much of the game, but were undone by two classy finishes from Moses and Sturridge.
    1/25/2014 2:35:37 PM
  • BOURNEMOUTH 0-2 LIVERPOOL [full-time]
Liverpool join Arsenal in the fifth-round draw after a hard-working display on the south coast. They were nowhere near their best today, but did just enough to squeeze past a battling Bournemouth side who had chances in the first-half to suggest an upset might be possible. Back to Championship duties for Eddie Howe's men.
