  • [save]WEST HAM 2-0 TOTTENHAM
That's another world class save. We've seen two today now. Rose surges inside onto his less-favoured right foot and connects sweetly with a drive that's heading for the roof of the net before Adrian thrusts out an arm and flicks the ball over. Brilliant stuff.
    5/3/2014 1:35:07 PM
  • [full-time]WEST HAM 2-0 TOTTENHAM
Spurs perhaps a touch unfortunate on a frustrating day for Tim Sherwood, but the truth is that even before Kaboul's red they were second best. Bar one lovely counter-attack, their passing lacked fluency. All smiles for West Ham, who secure their top-flight status.

  • [kick-off]UNDERWAY IN THE 3pm KICK-OFFS
Sun is shining in most places and there's much to play for in most places. We're up and running...
    5/3/2014 2:00:27 PM
  • [goal] VILLA 1-0 HULL (Westwood)
GOAL!!!!! Villa picks the ball up on the edge of the box and bends it past Harper into the bottom corner of the Hull net - 66 seconds and Villa are ahead, Dream Start!!!
    5/3/2014 2:01:39 PM
  • [missed-chance]STOKE 0-0 FULHAM
Wasteful from Assaidi, who reaches an inviting cut-back only to blast the ball high into the stand behind the goal.
    5/3/2014 2:03:47 PM
  • [missed-chance]NEWCASTLE 0-0 CARDIFF
Remy is lurking at the back post but hesitates and takes a touch when he should probably shoot. St James' could do with a lift.
    5/3/2014 2:05:24 PM

  • 5/3/2014 2:06:11 PM
  • [missed-chance]NEWCASTLE 0-0 CARDIFF
Small margins. Krul comes and flaps at a cross - clattering Debuchy in the process. The ball drops kindly for Campbell but he pulls his volley inches wide of the post. Debuchy is dazed but should be okay to continue.
    5/3/2014 2:07:37 PM
  • MAN UTD 0-0 SUNDERLAND [manchesterunited]
SCUFFER!!!! Ball drops to Young on the edge of the box but he makes a right ole mess of it and scuffs his volley weakly at the keeper
    5/3/2014 2:07:50 PM
  • [missed-chance]SWANSEA 0-0 SOUTHAMPTON
Shelvey shifts the ball a yard and whips in an excellent ball. Bony leaps in front of his marker and tries a glancing header towards the far corner. Just wide. Good effort.
    5/3/2014 2:08:42 PM
Good news Wycombe fans! The Chairboys need a win to have any chance of avoiding the drop and they are on course, Sam Wood (6), having given them the lead at already-relegated Torquay.

Northampton are also in danger and they are losing 1-0 at home to Oxford (Ryan Williams 7). If these early scores stay the same, it's Northampton who will go down.
    5/3/2014 2:10:10 PM
  • MAN UTD 0-0 SUNDERLAND [manchesterunited]
OOOPS! Giggs is playing with two wingers - Young and Nani and they are stretching the game, Young tees-up Mata but it's poor stuff from a player of his class as he slices it wide
    5/3/2014 2:10:11 PM
  • Here's what Alan Pardew had to say ahead of his side's clash with relegation-threatened Cardiff.

    5/3/2014 2:11:02 PM
  • [missed-chance]SWANSEA 0-0 SOUTHAMPTON
A slick free-kick move provides Cork with a sight of goal but he scuffs badly.
    5/3/2014 2:12:29 PM
Tranmere have given themselves hope. They lead Bradford 1-0 after a Matthew Pennington (7) goal but Crewe are also leading (Adam Dugdale, 10) - 1-0 at home to Preston - so Rovers are still in the drop zone as it stands.

It is looking very grim for Carlisle, who are 1-0 down at champions Wolves and seem destined for League Two.
    5/3/2014 2:13:55 PM
  • MAN UTD 0-0 SUNDERLAND [sunderland]
MISS!!!!! Rare outing for Sunderland up the park but the away day is ruined by Johnson when he bends the ball wide past the far post - half a chance wasted for the Black Cats
    5/3/2014 2:15:13 PM

  • 5/3/2014 2:15:40 PM
  • [missed-chance]SWANSEA 0-0 SOUTHAMPTON
Action involving Schneiderlin. Moments beforehand, he'd been involved in a minor fracas with Shelvey. Both could have been sent off for petulant attacks on each other. Then, the Saints midfielder fluffs a free header from eight yards out.
    5/3/2014 2:17:02 PM
  • The Saturday Night Football studio audience are enjoying the action

    5/3/2014 2:17:08 PM
  • Aston Villa scored in the very first minute against Hull

    5/3/2014 2:17:39 PM
  • MAN UTD 0-0 SUNDERLAND [miss]
Carrick slings over a low cross and Utd old boy O'Shea is a very lucky boy not to the turn the ball into his own net - he was only a few inches wide from opening the scoring
    5/3/2014 2:18:08 PM
Two quick-fire saves from Marshall as Debuchy blasts straight at him from the inside right channel and Ameobi forces him into further work from the corner.
    5/3/2014 2:18:09 PM
  • [goal]NEWCASTLE 1-0 CARDIFF (S Ameobi 18')
Marshall at fault as Newcastle open the scoring. Sissoko whips over a cross and the goalkeeper misjudges it, allowing Ameobi to nod into the empty net at the far post. Things looking grim for Cardiff now...
    5/3/2014 2:19:21 PM
Charlie Nicholas had just been saying how quiet it was at St James' Park but Shola Ameobi's opener has woken them up! [charlienicholas]

It's good build up play and maybe, just maybe Alan PArdew will get a performance out of his Newcastle side today.

    5/3/2014 2:19:31 PM
  • [missed-chance]SWANSEA 0-0 SOUTHAMPTON
Great effort from Lovren, who bends a free-kick onto the roof of the net. A talented footballer, the Saints centre-back.
    5/3/2014 2:20:21 PM
Marshall has to be at his sharpest to instinctively tip over Debuchy's header from a corner.
    5/3/2014 2:20:54 PM
  • MAN UTD 0-0 SUNDERLAND [manchesterunited]
CHANCE!! Nani clips the ball wide - it took a wee nick off a defender. From the resulting corner Evra heads the ball against Vidic's back and  Mannone dives on the ball. Utd on top and piling on the pressure now

    5/3/2014 2:21:26 PM
  • [missed-chance]STOKE 0-0 FULHAM
Loan star Holtby tries to spark Fulham into life with a long-range strike but he's several feet wide of the post.
    5/3/2014 2:22:21 PM
Massive red card at Northampton. Oxford goal-scorer Ryan Williams is sent off for retaliation against Ravenhill and relegation-haunted Northampton will try to come back from 1-0 down against 10 men.

Scunthorpe have the edge in the three-way battle for the title, Paddy Madden (19) having given them the lead at home to York.
    5/3/2014 2:22:53 PM
  • SKY BET ODDS [betting]With Cardiff trailing at Newcastle they are now massive odds-on shots to go down along with Norwich and Fulham. Bet on the relegation battle in-play

    5/3/2014 2:23:53 PM
Sissoko's speculative drive takes a wicked deflection and Marshall can only watch the ball cannon back off his far post. A lucky escape for the visitors.
    5/3/2014 2:24:03 PM
  • As it stands - things are looking bleak for Cardiff
